Keep in mind, Cybertruck FSD has only existed since the end of September 2024, just 7 months. It's become markedly better with each release and will continue to do so.

Someone asked why share some of the behind-the-scenes improvements - because knowing inputs and process helps people get comfortable with the outputs. The output that matters most, in this case, is the gap to Unsupervised FSD.

I've mentioned in other threads the end of September FSD build was a lot like a first-time teenage driver. Not aware of vehicle dimensions, not understanding turning radii, having difficulty with speed/momentum modulation in low-speed scenarios, sometimes missing traffic controls, etc. In 30 weeks Supervised FSD is already better than 80+% of the drivers on the road IMHO and I can see a path now to 90+% (of course, I'm in the top 10% as are all of you - well, most of you). Not only is it learning, like a new driver, but it's rate of learning is profound and I'd offer it's accelerating as well. That's where the training data, context window, compute and time from photon to control matter.

I'll write it here, on May 13th 2025 that by the end of 2025 there is a very good chance Cybertruck FSD may be a better driver than all of us....

....and then Cybertruck can shake that ASS.

Just got the 2025.14.6 version and it came with FSD update 13.2.9. Believe it or not, it actually does much better on small two-lane roads. On my testing roads it usually crosses the center line at least 6 times, and it didn't do it once. It is still "too close" to the center line for my liking, but it may be "usable" now on small two-lane roads. Will have to do some more testing and see how I like it. It was basically unusable for our rural area before, so couldn't even test it much before now.

Would be interested in others' experience with the latest FSD on smaller roads.
My 0.1 mile oil and chip driveway is about 10 ft wide with no markings or curbs. I can back my CT out from the car port head it down the driveway, put in destination, engage FSD and it will take me to the end of the driveway and make a sharp left turn onto the 15 ft wide unmarked oil and chip road, drive the 0.9 mile distance to the main 2 lane marked road, make the turn out and take me to town or wherever. There are turnouts in a few places that the CT can’t anticipate so I take over in cases where passing an oncoming vehicle. In places where the road is wide enough, the CT moves to the right and passes the oncoming vehicle. It’s really quite good at stating to the right of the road. Even when the driveway or road are snow covered it will follow tracks previously made. I had to take over once when it went too far to the right in snow and would have gone into the ditch. The CT also did quite well when the road was only gravel. Our MY is the same.

Half of this stuff means nothing to the average person…. So uhmm, why mention it?

4.2 x data scaling? Photon on control latency?

Which one of these will keep FullSelf Driving from running my rear tire into the curb during left turns?!!! Also keep off the left line?? Fix those immediately please!!!

Spot on! I have the same issues and the same questions!!!

Agreed. FSD 12 was scary in a lot of ways. FSD 13 started out better than 50% of the people on the road in Virginia (maybe not Oregon, LoL) and now I'd say its better than 90% of the people I see on the road on a daily basis.

I do have to explain to Tesla car owners sometimes that their FSD 12 is still generally better than our 13 and that the cybertruck started far later, with far less data, and on a different FSD chain than the cars.

I see the cars (HW4) probably being driven in some cities on unsupervised FSD by the end of 2025 but I don't think the cybertrucks will get that at all this year.

Noticed one very minor issue for me on this release that is likely no issue at all for just about everybody reading this. In my particular parking situation where I back into my driveway, I have a piece of 2 inch wide reflective tape in the center of my CT rear bumper and a similar piece on the bottom of my garage door. I use these pieces of tape when viewed through the rear camera align to line me up perfectly with my charger cord. With this release, the top of the center of my rear bumper is no longer visible in the rear camera view ... i.e. I can no longer see the reflective tape on the rear bumper when backing. Not a big deal ... I can make do using the on screen white path markers ... but I just found it a lot easier to use those 2 alignment tapes.
I’ve noticed rear camera issues after as well. The view is permanently zoomed in where I can’t see my license plate area anymore along with jaggies on thin based objects. Image quality is worse.

The front camera is very good but you have to remember to turn it on; even the FSD visualizations (heat map) are helpful— but I want that dumb summon.

I feel like one the the earlier versions of FSD took care of both of these issues for me however after using it today, I continue to experience it driving too close to the left side of the lane.
I haven’t updated my truck since December because of this. Based on all the feedback, I’ll wrap my truck in a giant ball of tin foil to keep the updates away if I have to.

Was really hoping this release would be the one where I could come out of hiding.

Mine has done that on occasion but not in recent memory. Hundreds of miles of FSD in the last 3 weeks.

I haven't updated yet but current FSD will take me down a rock road with no lines for 1.5 miles with crazy hair pin turns, no see corners, two one lane crooked bridges, and a sharp turn up a rock drive way with out much of an issue. The only problem is it turns on to the rock road with a 20mph speed posting and it tries to go 60 :)

I'm a new owner but have to say I'm amazed at its capabilities already coming from a 2016 model S.

interpreting gravel roads is truly next-level stuff. I took a short video this morning of exactly that, it's impressive if you stop to think about it.

Most important part is at the bottom / second ss and why i get my notes from notateslaapp personally...

We've had the same patch notes for the longest time and people get their hopes up or claim they notice small weird differences that are usually in their head. Set your expectations. At this point I dont get my hopes up unless i see major step changes and updated patch notes. Part of me wonders if this list under "Includes:" is just an ongoing roadmap for the current branch.

My guess is we will see an update before robotaxi launch but also wouldn't be surprised if they side lined us to focus on robotaxi given that they are targeting the new model Y for robotaxi launch specifically.

Do any of you have a problem with double-turning lanes into a 3-lane road?

For example, when there are 2 lanes to turn left, and the stripes are marked, i.e., the right lane directs you to take the rightmost lane of the 3 lanes, and the left lane, you can take either the center lane or the left lane.

9 of 10 times, my truck will be in the right lane to turn left, and supposed to take the rightmost lane of the 3 lanes, but it aggressively takes the middle lane (crossing over the lane guidance markers).

I've been giving it microphone feedback frequently to no avail.

The only time it maintains the turning lane is if another vehicle is taking the center lane (it would result in a collision if it did not).

Lost both of my mud flaps and two tire covers from this.

But Tesla won't cover it and said I should pay.
