It is frustrating that once the sun goes down the nanny cam accuses me of not watching the road no matter how laser focused I am. Running with the dome light in my face improves it some but I still wind up driving myself because it says I ignored warnings to watch the road. Daytime it doesn't do this. I searched the forums and could not find a thread on this. Anyone have a workaround for keeping FSD running when your face is in the dark?

Tell me you wear sunglasses at night without telling me you wear sunglasses at night... Just kidding, of course 😉

Are you saying there's not enough ambient for the cam to see you clearly? Have you looked to see what the cam sees? If you need more ambient, maybe set the display setting to Light and not Auto or Dark. Would provide a little more cabin light.

I've got some yellow tinted rx glasses I wear for night driving. I've had the same excess warning issue. It *MIGHT* be when I tilt the glasses - as in the temples are above my ears resulting the outside of the front of the glasses tilting down. Wondering if that angle coupled with light from outside the car makes it difficult for the AI to determine what my eyes are doing. But I don't know. It's my working theory at the moment.

If it's not the glasses you are wearing, may be the invisible infrared lights next to the interior camera are not working. Just look at the camera preview at night to see if you can see yourself in night vision or point your cellphone camera to the interior camera to see if the lights are actually glowing at night. You might need to get it serviced if they are not on.

By chance do you have a lazy eye, like that guy in the wheel chair from Scary Movie 2?

It tells me I am not watching the road even during the day and will strike me -- I assume it doesn't like my eyes.

Just wear any type of glasses (even fake) and make sure the top rim is directly blocking the straight line from your eyeballs to the camera and you can drive for hours with no nagging...

As a hypothetical, purely for thought exercise:

Are your night driving glasses polarized by any chance? If so adding a small piece of polarized film over the FSD lens oriented opposite to the glasses polarization would block the view of your eyes while not defeating the larger head tracking function. Which would effectively make it work like it does during the day.

I got the same messages as well using the FSD at night. Until now, I thought it was due to my Asian eyes. Ha Ha As one post prior says take a look at the camera views at night and see if the night vision is working.

I was getting the same thing too.. No glasses, no hat, just driving as normal. Hasn't resolved it self, someone suggested to turn up the screen brightness and the strip lights, haven't tried it tho. I posted about it before because I was getting constant nags as a result.
