Any tips for the voice recording when disengaging FSD?
These clips are used to train the model and they get labeled by a human. So usually if the truck did something or didn’t see something noting exactly what it didn’t do or see etc is useful for the labeling process. Like I had to takeover as it went very close to a backwards facing consteuction sign on the side of the road and I noted thay it was too close to a sign. Etc etc

It appears that the different aggressiveness levels isn't available in the truck. I'm not sure if they removed it or overlooked it.
They really didn't make a huge difference anyway.

Recommendations for learning FSD.

  • First start on lesser traveled road with few people around you. That allows you to not worry about what other cars do and just focus on what the vehicle can do.
  • Do some simple routes, with maybe only a few turns.
  • Don't try to go through the center of town to begin with.
  • It will take time for you to learn / trust FSD.
  • Don't assume that FSD drives the way you would. Assume that it's a NYC cab driver crossed with a brand-new teenage driver.
  • It will startle/scare you to begin with. That's a trust thing.
  • Odds are that it isn't doing the wrong thing, you are just expecting it to.
  • Turn auto speed control off and roll the speed down to begin with.
  • Again, it will startle/scare you and you will swear that it is about to kill you. It isn't.
Well said. I have two close friends that were scared to use FSD in Tesla sedans snd would kick it off all the time. Both eventually learned to accept it and now demand it. One drove my beast into work today and just called me ecstatic about how FSD handled a fleur de lis between a pickup and two semis in front of her.

The only signs that I believe that it reads are white speed limit signs, for which it reads the numbers.

It doesn't read any other sign, but the yellow caution sign or lights normally slow the vehicle down.

If it reads the sign, it shows the sign in the visualizations. The only things you will ever see are speed limits at this time.
My list of complaints:

Slams on the brakes for deer crossing signs.

Reads "end 35" as 35 MPH forever.

Seems to default to 25 on any unknown road rather than 55.

Tried to run me straight through a red light when the semi in front of me was turning right. It saw the light, but still ran it.

But my biggest thing is it's too slow. Drives way under the limit even when set to go over, especially on back roads. I even changed it from the auto speed setting to speed limit with % over, and it still wants to stay under the limit. As regular cruise control, it's worse than before.

Using Enhanced AP our MYP would slow down every time we go under a 2-lane overpass on highway 101, so I submitted several ’bug reports’ to Tesla using the microphone. That problem, whatever was causing it, was finally addressed & the MYP no longer slows down at that spot…………BUT now the Cybertruck does. WTH? Now more bug reports.

Also, I haven’t experienced this yet on the Cybertruck since we haven’t driven it to Seattle yet, but EAP on the MYP doesn’t recognize the electronically adjustable speed limit signs being used there.

I’ve had my Beast for several months but I’m new to FSD. Is there a tutorial on FSD anywhere? The first time I tried it was spooky so I wondered if you can change how aggressively it performs? I was in a Model S with a friend & he had three levels.
I looked for it and it's not there (YET). I need less agreesive driving by CT.

Next time you pass a deer sign don't do anything but watch the speedometer.
I dare say that "slams on the brakes" is actually decrease speed by 5 mph.

It is SOOO common for newbies to equate unexpected actions with a response to "slam on the brakes" No, it just startled you.

It was a 55 and it slowed down to 18 before I hit the accelerator, I was letting it do its thing to see what would happen. I believe it was going to stop completely without intervention.

ETA: could have been something else going on besides the sign, who knows?

That sounds like bad road data. What did the speed limit say as it was slowing?

You can instruct the FSD to do things too. For example, while FSD is engaged, if you want to change lanes, put on your blinker and it will change to that lane when it thinks it's safe to do so. Also, if you are not going the full speed because, for example, a car moved out of your lane, if you press the accelerator momentarily, the FSD will increase up to the speed you have set or whatever it deems safe. Two off the top of my head, maybe there are others.
I want to know how to slow it down without cancelling FSD. I have been 5MPH over the speed limit in an area I know is patrolled and cannot figure a way to slow it down without turning off FSD. The scroll wheel does not seem to do anything under FSD.

To do that you'll need to turn Automatic Speed Control off.
With it off, it's similar to the way that it's been, but dramatically different.

Is there any way to make it just auto steer to stay in its lane if a destination isn't set? It keeps trying to make turns even onto unmarked gravel service roads

Also I agree with OP, it's crazy this was launched with no instructions. It's not in the owner's manual.
That's a good point; you should leave a relaxed hand on the controls to disengage if it pulls too far, and hover a foot over the brake for if it goes when it shouldn't. Don't hover over the accelerator because you may hit it when you don't mean to; make sure any accelerator overrides are intended and safe - FSD will assume the driver knows better.

The video they published doesn't show how to initiate turn signals or type in destinations.

No. It wants to know where it's going.

What do you mean Autosteer? I don't believe that the Cybertruck has it at the current time.

The normal option to reduce lane changes is on a popup that doesn't appear in the Cybertruck, but does in the cars.
