Aww bummer. The first time I read the release notes, I thought all the upcoming things are here. I guess this is just another round of AI training they’re pushing to see if things are improving slightly.

It’s be nice if the CT doesn’t hop out of HOV lanes for no reason, not sure what else may improve but I guess I’ll find out this week.
It still tries to hop out of HOV

Well 15.5.5.3 almost caused 2 crashes for me today in places 15.5.5.2 was usable.

1- right turn on red to main road: accelerated and started the turn while a fast car was incoming on the main road.

2- four lane road (2 east 2 west bound) with turn lane in the middle. Turning west onto main road (unprotected left) went in the turn lane nicely but then 2 cars were incoming the lane it wanted to lean into, turn lane was ending with a median. It violently accelerated towards the median parallel to oncoming cars and it I didn’t take over it was either going to run into the median or hit the cars on the lane it was trying to merge.

Need to keep a close eye on it still.
I think you should lower your expectations until v13. These complex scenarios still tend to require intervention.

Yes, but here is where I’m struggling: FSD is available for the Cybertruck now- why is it not shipping out on all new vehicles already installed at this point? Does anyone have any idea?
Non-foundations have to opt in to FSD now. It’s not a given for everyone.

I’m not sure that’s true about urban environments. You may need to nudge it or be intervention ready in lane changes but I drove in a pretty busy part of Houston with a lot of hectic lane changes and I’m not sure I would have performed any better given the conditions. It knew where to go and I’ve seen it struggle so I thought it worked pretty well in keeping me from taking the wrong exit etc.

Just went to pick up some food and just got it loaded. I have a lot of uphills and downhills, stop signs and mostly residential. FSD did well for the most part. Its less “mother may I?” and flowed a little better. The cadence is proper, even at stop sign. Little too proper at times. I had to break it because of a residential speed bump it was going to fly over at twenty five mph versus the fifteen the bumps were limiting. I am really hoping that it doesnt lean towards the left part of the lane in fast highway speeds. So much so that I use enough muscle strength to center the truck in the lanes to the point FSD disengages.

Yeah, I've never seen an update that self-installed. But I can see how some fat finger action (on the phone screen) could make someone think it did.
What do you mean ? No sht I just looked at my app when I saw the thread wondering the update was available for me and it says it was downloading it now and was almost 100%.

EDIT: cancel what I said I guess it was downloading it to tell
Me it was available and I can now download it ? Wtf does that mean ?

So I updated to the new software and mine glitched out a little bit. Received my first strike. Lol

I was literally at a standstill at a red light and the truck was turning right. Once the car came to a stop, the steering wheel yanked to the right a little and a notification came onto the screen in red saying I need to apply slight pressure to the wheel.

I did this and it didn’t sense I was applying pressure. The truck started moving and I got my first strike.

There’s an obvious glitch in this release with it doing that. I may hold the record for a strike with the lowest speed. Lol ?

Has anyone else had something similar? Where you’re feeling the steering wheel yanking to the right much more aggressively than previously?

Mine downloaded and installed last night right after I got home from work, I was too tired to take a ride but can't wait to get home tonight to give it a try and see if it does better with all the construction that is on US19 near my house, I will report back.

One of the employees mentioned on twitter that they stage it based off of vin for new deliveries due to server load. I imagine they might also want to fine tune things a bit to get it in a better state?

Because Tesla updates are OTA, and the Cybertrucks shipping now were produced a little while back.

Also, I’ve noticed that once a Tesla vehicle is delivered, the updates are slow initially, as the new Teslas are at the end of the queue for new OTA updates. Maybe they give new owners a little on-ramp to get used to a new vehicle before starting to introduce new features to them.

I remember my new Model Y getting no OTA updates for 4-6 weeks while the updates were rolling to the fleet, and then I started getting OTA updates closer and closer to the release date.

I also feel that if you jump on a new update as soon as it shows up on your Tesla, the next one will be offered to you sooner, and if you wait longer to update to the one offered to you, the next one will be offered to you later in the queue. This feeling is purely empirical, but as soon as I started getting updates in my Model Y, I was immediately installing them. Within 6 months, I was one of the first to get the updates offered to me (often the same day I would read the news of a new update being released), whereas in the beginning, I was way down in the queue by weeks or even months before the update would show up on my Tesla.

So you have been driving your car. What a novel idea.
I LOVE to drive Blitzen, the best out of all my vehicles...but the technology behind this truck is just mind-blowing. I feel that I am depriving it learning opportunities by driving myself...but, we will both learn, together. When I am tired or lazy, then Blitzen the Beast can drive me around.

My wife, Ms Claus, tells her friends that she can now load the little old man into his truck, push "Home Depot" and send me on my way...and it does have elements of truth in it.

That’s annoying. Mine literally tried for two minutes to hop out of HOV today (as I kept canceling the turn signal) and once I finally let it, it wanted to hop right back in. ?
Try a divided highway against traffic with reversable HOV express lanes. Almost without fail it tries to merge into oncoming freeway traffic at 140mph closure rate through closed barriers. That's the excitement I've been looking for.

Just like any other firmware update it has to be downloaded before it can be installed. So it will download in the background when you’re on Wi-Fi and then let you know that you have it so that you can install it at your convenience.

but you always have to affirmatively decide to install the update.

I’ve reported that exact behavior a bunch of times because it happens at the entrance to our neighborhood, and it hasn’t changed with any of the updates since we first got FSD. Still turns into 90 degree lefts as if it’s turning onto a 1-way street and always starts in the wrong lane. Haven’t had an oncoming car to determine if it would see it and realize it’s turn onto a two-way street, but your experience tells me it wouldn’t matter. Strangely that’s the only real issue I ever see - left turns taken too tightly. I don’t know what they need to do to get some more data into the training corpus for that scenario, but I have plenty if they look at the location I always report!
I wonder if this is a camera issue that is more physical and not fixable. As if the camera's cant see the lines until it is on them when making those turns. I say this cause everyone has the same issue and its never changed in any releases. Thoughts? Would be a bummer.
