Impressions so far:

-much quicker to change lanes when you signal
-maybe Slightly less smooth overall
-it still parks like poop, both in spot selection and and in maneuvering today it almost hit a car and I had to stop it, it may have actually gotten worse
-it seems to speed less in hurry mode

I need to test further but other than the improvement in lane changing delay, the rest is similar or slightly worse.

But that’s only with 1 hour of driving so maybe the drive was anomolous and more testing in order.

It still has an irrational fear of the HOV lane. Even with the HOV setting on, it wants to move out of the lane even with the next right lane is barely moving. I'm constantly fighting FSD till I give up and take over. Biggest pita.

I don't get it. Is it your position that this feature is a safety problem??
100%.
It's a popup that not only blocks all information on the screen, it disables the entire screen until you select an option! This isn't just sloppy programming, this is dangerous. I've hit critical every-time because of this obnoxious popup. It's like they not only shoehorned the thing in there, they did zero testing, and obviously do not care about the humans actually operating the vehicle.

It's so bad, it's almost like they outsourced JUST this popup. It has zero connection to the UI/UX. It disables all other input. It BLOCKS information you need to operate the vehicle. It needs removed ASAP. I don't disagree with the concept, however the execution is inexcusable.

Agreed. I'm using FSD less to avoid it, since while I appreciate FSD in some scenarios, I regularly disable it such as right before stop signs to avoid long stops and avoiding potholes. After the update I was disabling it even more since it doesn't time the regenerative braking right while approaching stopped traffic.

I just hit the top button without any thought to get rid of it.

It's like they kept the screen they used for internal testing.

OK this version sucks!
1. auto turns on the Auto wipers every time. Ok sure not that big a deal except auto wipers have clearly regressed. Constant wiping on a dry, clear clean windsheild, on a clear day! It's terrible now!
2. Won't honor my request to change lanes with the turn signal while in FSD. I know it's a suggestion when I do this but it seemed to work well in the previous release and this release is bad, just would not work and that leads to number 3...
3, Hogs the left lane and the right turn lane. The left lane is nearly the same as before if not a little worse about clogging up traffic behind me, the right turn on red blocking at a stop light. The old version would do this too but I could always use the turn signal to get over when I saw it happen ... not now because it won't honor my turn signal request!!!!!!!!!!
4. WHAT THE HELL POP UP... that thing is the worst UX I have ever seen in Tesla and I go back to the early days! What do push when the car wont change lanes? Why did it pop up when I arrived at my destination and I took control in the last 50 feet? Why does it cover everything and force you to hit something. This thing is DOGSHIT JONES!

I used the voice command to issue no less than 8 bug reports in a 3 mile drive yesterday. I know it's pointless but it makes me feel better to yell at the computer as I make a report.

feels bad man... feels bad...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us back the old version...

The NEW disengagement screen!

IMG_1121.webp
This screen bugs me a lot. It is a required screen that cannot be exited without pressing one of the four options. While I understand Tesla uses this feedback to additionally train FSD, it shouldn't be a requirement for drivers to provide this info especially while actively driving after disengaging FSD. Something something...freedoms and things :)

I like it as it helps the mission to unsupervised as we all want. That being said, perhaps there should be an opt-out!

Can't really say I love the new pop-up screen, but I'm also not throwing a tantrum over it. I would assume the reason for the size/prominence is so that the driver doesn't need to land a button press with much accuracy and so they don't misclick. Having an option to use the scroll wheel and click or to override with a voice command seems to be a good solution. Or hell, if it's going to take up the whole screen, just have the four quadrants of the screen as buttons so it's just gross motor skill and trained/remembered clicks for feedback.

Honestly I don't see how this is any worse or more "dangerous" than trying to update the climate, songs, etc. while driving manually. However I'm used to this shit from playing Apex and trying to do an armor swap as a third party is pushing. The Animal Crossing folks just ain't built for this world.

Never let an opportunity for outrage go to waste though 🙃

Well, I find it very easy to select one of the pop up options with my phone in my left hand.

Funny how people have opposite reactions. This screen IS irritating, don't get me wrong. But, I think it's a pretty good way for your car to learn you. When I disengage to change lanes, it now knows I prefer the 2nd from the right lane of the two turning lanes. It won't make that mistake again. Prior to this, the system would register a disengagement and it was up to some black box process to figure out it I just wanted to drive, there was a problem, there was danger, etc.

You just hitting critical every time could make FSD worse for you.

For me, when I scrolled back because it was going too fast, that screen popped up and I selected "Preference". Maybe, it'll learn my personal speed settings. Thank goodness Tesla is making an attempt to learn the difference between a critical intervention and a "I just feel like driving now" intervention.

Different folks, different takes. I don't let the little things control how I feel.

Love the new multiple choice screen that asks why you disengaged.
Me too! I find it a lot easier to just hit one of the four boxes than to press the "talk" button on the steering wheel and figure out how to best describe what happened.
