hmmmm, they probably just added a "start self driving" button. ;-). and the rest sucks the same ha.

hehe, with Chuck first already:
1. It wouldn't backup out of driveway like other model.
2. It didn't want to take route for a left turn (but did good when forced).

I'm just upset that Canadian CTs got left out in the dark with this rollout.
I hope my lighthearted ribbing was taken in the spirit it was intended.

Sure. And, does it work as I said? Sloth will drive the speed limit. Other profiles will go faster. Seems exactly like the behavior people want - just without the exact number.
I was experimenting with profiles the other day. I normally use the 'standard' profile on the highway, so I switched to 'chill' and it immediately moved into the rightmost lane. Not exactly what I would have wanted chill to mean. Then I switched back to 'standard' and it immediately went over to the left one lane (there were 3 at the time). I can only assume that if I had changed to 'hurry' it would have moved over another lane. So that is a single behavior associated with a profile, and it would be nice to know all of the behaviors associated with a profile, but the idea is that what Tesla wants in a profile may not match what I want, in any profile, and there may not be a sufficient overlap for me (or anyone) to be happy. That is why having at least some speed control is desirable. At least we can tell FSD to change lanes ... wait, FSD often ignores my request to change lanes even when I am the only one on the road. But I can give a nudge on the steering wheel and it will grudingly change lanes :)

Interesting. For me on my main road I take often, 281 in TX, Hurry likes to stay in the left lane, and Standard likes to get over in the right lane pretty immediately. A switch to hurry and it changes back to left. I also have the issue where it ignores my lane changes that go against that behavior.

Of course, I have a route issue where it wants to exit the perfectly good 6 lane freeway for a 20 minute dirt road detour and get back on the freeway what would be 1 minutes later if stayed on it in the first place - ug.

I do think the argument could be made the scroll wheel approach was less than ideal to start with. I’ve always wished it would accept real time corrections. Say that by default it does the speed limit and if you want it to go faster you accelerate to that speed and hold it for a few seconds, then it should try to replicate that cruise velocity to whatever extent possible.
The opposite way is a bit harder logic-wise because applying the brakes is the typical signal to disengage FSD.
Maybe for that you use the scroll wheel to head back to sloth mode and start the speed adjustment process over? I don’t know exactly how I’d do it, but I feel like the most intuitive and precise speed control would be the pedals, because that’s how people drive.
Voice control. “Slow down” “hey, go a bit faster please? Im in a hurry” kind of like yelling at your Uber driver. Personally, i will be disengaging and reporting the moment it speeds, and likely will be pressing the accelerator when it is going to slow.

Without max speed control I wonder how FSD 14 is going to handle the situation where it thinks the speed limit is 90MPH in 65MPH zone. V13 sets itself to max speed 85MPH which I dial down (see photo). Yes, I have cancelled FSD and sent a recorded message multiple times since I got the CT in June.

Use report bug for this- this will be present whether fsd is engaged or not. I say “report incorrect mapped speed limit”

The old way was you could set the exact speed with the scroll wheel. Small clicks were 1 mph, if you rolled it it would jump up 5, but with E2E that went away.
You could set the max speed…

I’ve been reading through all the comments looking to see if anything has been said about a new controller- which I believe would fix several issues. So far I haven’t seen any mention of it.
