Did few hours of driving with FSD on busy streets of South Bay Area - and now I feel that I prefer self driving more than FSD. Probably on long(er) trips FSD will great.
- FSD is quite good, however has to learn more on CT size, and limitations, e.g.
- while taking a sharp left at an intersection , it drove over the divider
- Merging lanes in hilly curvy road was tricky and I had to intervene
- My driving style is different from FSD's... e.g. When I see a red signal, I ease and let regen to take over baking and gradually slow down; However, with FSD - it will continue at speed and then brake as it come close to stop. Nothing wrong but different.
- Again, if I am not showing off pickup speed to a 911 stopped next to me, I pick up gradually; FSD accelerates fast - not sure if I can change it...
- I like to change lanes in heavy traffic to pass slow drivers or my intuition that someone will slow to get on the right lane; FSD will continue driving on it's set path
