Yes, I cleaned mine (inside surface of windshield under the camera binnacle and the camera lenses) and it reduced dry wiping by around 90%. I still get the occasional dry wipe and I don't see what the big issue is. A seldom dry wipe doesn't really impact my day enough to even mention it. Today I drove over 100 miles, I had one dry wipe, it was not a big enough deal to bother turning my wipers off..
My issue with the dry wipes is I often wash my truck mainly to have a clean front winshield, specifically to cut down on glare but the dry wipe will often leave a trace smudge accross the wipe path which brings back the glare and reduced night time visibilty with low-angle sunlight or headlights at night.

If your windshield is clean, and so is the wiper blade, there will be no smudging. Use a little isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth to clean the residue off your wiper blade. You will be glad you did.

Doesn't make a difference if I clean the blade. I think the issue is pollen that is alwasy falling in SoCal.

This happens to me often. Many times after I have washed my truck and know the window is clean? Is it possible this is from offgassing film inside the window in from of the forward facing cameras? I shtis something Tesla can clean since I can't?
I took delivery last month on 1st drive windshield wiper kept doing a dry wipe every few miles. looking at the camera view seemed hazy after a few weeks got bad enough got an Alert to clean or service camera. Yesterday 10.28.25 had it serviced, they said it was cleaned and is good. Driving away a few miles from service center the wiper begun doing the same thing trying to clear front camera for FSD. I do think the gassing off could be part of the issues and in my case the camera is also failing. I can see the lower part of the image is a little blurry. I'll make another service appt. I also did the wipers OFF but the wiper will come back on for safety reasons to clear the camera view even if windshield is clean. I did this OFF so many times in a row the screen gave me a Red Alert saying take control immediately.

I would like to have a "wiper off for duration on drive" option each time I might engage FSD, so I don't have to repeat it if I temporarily have to stop FSD.

I am wishing it would in the future.
Got it. I was hopeful.
I’m ready for Ara to start assuming control of non-safety-critical settings.
I think she’d be useful for front and rear media control, climate control, address search and entry and interior light control at the minimum. Maybe navigation editing like adding/removing/changing supercharger stops?
