Hi Everyone,

I own a 2026 Model Y and love it. I’m considering a 2nd Model Y for my wife (maybe performance or YL). My brother owns a Cybertruck and loves it, but he lives in TX.

Ironically, my biggest concern with the Cybertruck is the increased size and fitting in a typical new build garage. I do like the idea that it is shorter than a normal full size truck, but not by much…what is your real life experience with storing it in the garage?

It was designed around the F150 size of that helps. Coming from a model 3 to the truck it’s noticeably bigger on the road. Took a bit getting used to am I still in my lines? Now it’s no big deal. As for garage, it fits in mine but I never put it in there bc my lady got stuff.

I would love to park my CT on garage. But unfortunately, my garage was 2" shorter than truck...why?. Now these days most builders building garage for cars and not for trucks.

Right? And that just absolutely makes no sense in the US since 40-45% of all new vehicle sales are light trucks.

If your garage is at least 19 feet from inner edge of roll down door and back wall it will fit. You will have a few inches to spare at the front and back of the CT.

Don't forget the 1" inner connector between garage panels. ;) I have done all the math.

If you have one of those new 20’ garages you’ll probably regret it, I’ve hit the pop tailgate or frunk from the app on accident a few times😬. Luckily my garage is over 40’ deep

I measured at least three times before placing the order. It barely fits in my garage with maybe 2-3 inches of clearance in the front and back. Backing it in without trying again took some practice, but overall i am happy.

I had the same concern. Go to dealer and tell them. Mine gave me one overnight to try it out. It’s tight but fits and all family members got to drive and fall in love with it at the same time.

My garage is 19 feet deep. I have about 3 inches to spare. I put 1 inch foam on the back wall and split pool noodles on the inside of the garage door's cross bars. I back in until it touches the foam and I have 2 inches to spare in the front.

The real thing I have to be careful of is not to open the fronk or tailgate from the Tesla app when parked.

Not what you asked, but I live in Arizona so obviously snow and ice is not a factor for me. That said, of all the cars I’ve ever owned I’d say this is the one least harmed by parking outside. Cabin overheat protection protects the inside (especially if helped by tint) and the stainless steel is entirely unphased by the sun. Doubly so if it’s PPF’d and xpel armored like mine. Even if not, I’m pretty sure if you cyberbrite that thing once a year or so, you’ll never notice it over the useful life of the truck to you.
This isn’t one of those smartass “it’s a truck” comments but it seriously is fairly impervious.
For me, the garage space is more useful for the toys I can carry in it. Paddle boards, kayaks, tents, bikes, recovery gear…you get the idea.

I just moved into my new home and you have to plan for a CT. Considering I already had the truck I knew what to look for in a garage and there are a lot of builds out there that aren't the typical 20x20

If you don't have at least a 19' long garage it's a wrap so either park it outside or don't buy one.

Tape measure to make sure it fits, order a set of these to make it stupid easy how far to pull forward, keep it garaged, chews through to much power when outside.
