Garage experience?

Not what you asked, but I live in Arizona so obviously snow and ice is not a factor for me. That said, of all the cars I’ve ever owned I’d say this is the one least harmed by parking outside. Cabin overheat protection protects the inside (especially if helped by tint) and the stainless steel is entirely unphased by the sun. Doubly so if it’s PPF’d and xpel armored like mine. Even if not, I’m pretty sure if you cyberbrite that thing once a year or so, you’ll never notice it over the useful life of the truck to you.
This isn’t one of those smartass “it’s a truck” comments but it seriously is fairly impervious.
For me, the garage space is more useful for the toys I can carry in it. Paddle boards, kayaks, tents, bikes, recovery gear…you get the idea.

Short answer: Any full-size truck needs an “oversized” garage. If you didn’t pay extra for your garage when you built your house, it’s not big enough for any full size truck, including the CT.

Standard size for homes built within the past 20 years in South Florida has consistently been 19 feet (gated community built by developers).

I own a 2026 Model Y and love it. I’m considering a 2nd Model Y for my wife (maybe performance or YL). My brother owns a Cybertruck and loves it, but he lives in TX.

Ironically, my biggest concern with the Cybertruck is the increased size and fitting in a typical new build garage. I do like the idea that it is shorter than a normal full size truck, but not by much…what is your real life experience with storing it in the garage?

I had the same concern before buying mine (had a 2029 model Y before), and mine fits in my garage no problem and with able 3 feet of extra room. So it’s easy to walk behind/ around the truck. We have a 2 car garage, house was built in 2016…but that doesn’t mean anything since my whole street was a a brand new development and some houses have snake garage than mine.

Like others said, you need to take the truck’s measurements and see if it’ll fit.

Our Cybertruck fits inside our 20'x20' two-car garage, with room to walk in front of it. It's tight, but fits fine.

Now that my wife and I are empty nesters we decided we didn't need the large house and have downsized to a small condo. In our previous home with a big three-car garage fitting, the Cyber truck in was no issue. The condo was a different story but ultimately I found one that fits... Barely

I've been parking my Cybertruck outside exclusively for over 2 years and it appears no worse for the wear. However, we will be moving into a new house gradually over the summer and it has a two-bay garage with one bay double deep. The Cybertruck fits into all three of the spots with room to spare. I can even open the tailgate and the frunk in any of the three parking spots.

That said the outside dimensions of the Cybertruck are available in this thread and it's simple to bring a tape measure when you look at a new house (or to measure your existing garage) to determine how much room you will have.

If your garage is at least 19 feet from inner edge of roll down door and back wall it will fit. You will have a few inches to spare at the front and back of the CT.

19 feet means I'll have a couple feet in front and behind. My garage is from when cars were looooong.

If you have one of those new 20’ garages you’ll probably regret it, I’ve hit the pop tailgate or frunk from the app on accident a few times. Luckily my garage is over 40’ deep

I used to have a 91' deep garage. It was mainly for working on farm equipment. I used to pull in and park diagonally in it on both sides.
