The suggestion posted by the forum member above about disabling sentry mode, deep sleep cycle, and re-enabling after reacquisition of signal is correct.

The other way is to reset the ADAS but this is the fastest. It's random, always happens after a software update from what I hear. In my case it happened a single time and the procedure above did the trick

Years ago, I rented a car with one of these newfangled GPS “voice navigation” systems installed. It worked well, but the poor map data in remote areas showed my position well off the road. This confused the rudimentary computer, which kept imploring me to “please return to the selected route by making a U-turn”.

My passenger attempted to silence the loud and unhelpful directives, but instead managed to change the language to… Japanese. This was significantly less helpful, but I was quite taken aback when it blurted out “ターンして選択したルートに戻ってください U TURN”, with “U-turn” spoken in English.

Wait, there is no Japanese word meaning “reverse direction”?? Oh, of course not. There is too much shame.

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago and the rebooting didnt help. Somewhere I read that using a USB Hub can cause this issue -- I unplugged my USB hub and it fixed itself immediately, right before my very eyes.

I have since reconnected my hub and havent had any GPS issues -- but there is definitely something to do with USB hub/Sentry mode

The Sentry mode toggle/deep sleep seems to have worked for me. While I was here, I conducted some generously described as “experiments.”
I wrapped my Hansshow digital wire monstrosity in copper tape in hopes of shielding any interference to the GPS , wrapped in aluminum foil, both… and just putting aluminum foil beneath the Beauty cover.
interestingly enough putting aluminum foil beneath the beauty cover seems to have made the biggest positive effect on satellite reception and signal/noise ratio.

I've noticed the Beauty Cover already includes a thin shield right under the GPS antenna. I wonder if GPS interference played a factor in Tesla abandoning the rearview display...?

one of my trials was wrapping the entire mirror and wires in foil. I found there was a positive increase in signal but not too much difference from just adding foil beneath the beauty shield. Really, it could all boil down placebo effect and observer bias, but I do think there was some positive effect. I videoed it but I can’t upload for some reason.
