Just picked my truck up from a week of being in service mode while being wrapped. On my drive home the gps got all whacked out. It was off center by a lot. Navigation was useless as it thought I was on the wrong roads.

I just got home and am installing the 2024.45.25.15 update. Hoping this resolves the issue. Anyone ever have this happen? I also did a soft rest and also a display reset, which didn’t seem to resolve the issue.

I think there’s an issue with the GPS systems, mine started giving me the Poor GPS Location Accuracy alert this afternoon on my drive home.

Same here. Was happening at 11:30am ET, but not on my commute home. It happened a long time ago, but been perfect since. Must be a glitch.

The GPS issue is on and off for me since I had it in last Jun. Sometimes every day at the beginning of a drive; sometimes in the middle of a drive; other times no problem for a few weeks.
I let service center looked at it once but they said it could just be poor signal reception at places and come back again if it still happens.
Google map on my phone never had such issue.

Update! I updated software and turned off sentry mode so the vehicle would sleep fully. About an hour later hopped in and everything is right as rain. Back to normal. That was definitely a strange little glitch.

Interesting idea. My vehicle wanders back and forth across lanes pretty regularly. It is only when I do not have signal reception that I drive down the middle of the lane properly. Do we really have to be connected to a server to use FSD successfully? That only works where there are lots of coffee shops.

No. That makes zero sense.

Yes! This just happened to me on a road trip yesterday. I stopped by Tesla service center and they forced a reinstall of the current software on my CT. It resolved it for a few hours then GPS got out of whack again during the drive home. Got home, plugged in to charge and everything was good again. Not sure when it will happen again. I was doing manual calculation and guessing between charges for the last 200 miles of my road trip...stressful!

From a past post someone did:
GPS stops tracking you properly.
Rep had me do the following and all is now working.
1. go to settings, toggle Sentry mode (if on turn it off, if off turn it on, mine was on)
2. Exit the vehicle, walk away until it locks, and stay away from the truck for 1 full minute.
3. Re-enter the truck and start driving. I made it about 500 feet and the navigation screen spun around and was perfect again. tried a couple of navigation destinations and all is back to normal.

Mine too. It started on Thursday about 4pm, it’s now Saturday and it still have the location 30 miles from actual. Hope it’s fixed soon.

Check out this related thread:

I'm thinking the more recent software updates somehow make the GPS error when there's a USB splitter and a 2nd USB drive. I can't imagine why that would be, but my GPS problems were solved when I just plugged in a single USB SSD into the USB port (removing my USB dock/splitter and light show thumb drive.

100% my USB hub (inside the glove drawer) was causing the issue "Poor GPS location accuracy", preventing my FSD from operating. Once I disconnected the hub, the issue went away. Appreciate this forum!
