We received our Cybertruck a couple days ago. Drove it home and around our town, loved it...so many positives! Earned cool parent status picking up the kids from school. Decided to go for a trip today and took it on the highway...we could't go over 68MPH. It wasn't from our security setting, it's due to some technical issue regarding an oil pump. Needless to say we have a loaner car for a bit. What a letdown. Anyone else have a similar issue?

Sucks.. too many of these. I hope they get ironed out by my time (a couple years)

Sorry for that

Did you just take it and drop it off without an appointment?

Around Dallas it’s 5 weeks to schedule service.

We did, but mentioned it was a safety issue. I think since we literally just picked it up that helped.

Come on! Not when I was so excited to never change oil in the new Cybertruck ?. Thanks for sharing though.
Damn… is it in some scheduled maintenance for it too? I noticed an oil filter too which means it may need changing over time?
The oil in the drive unit is not subject to the high heat and combustion contaminants of an ICE engine. I think previous models had a change interval of like 80,000 miles or something ridiculous, and they finally decided the oil and filter would last the lifetime of the drive unit.

You can change your oil if you're feeling nostalgic, I guess ?‍♂

The title (back in the shop) of this thread suggests a recurring issue.
Intentional or not, please let us know how an obviously rare issue gets resolved.

Sucks! Ours broke down when they went to clean it and has been in service since….i am glad I didn’t get it first like you or I’d be more upset..they said I can get a new VIN or let them repair this one….i figure the next one could have same issue and might not show until later so might as well get the patch….all of these scenarios suck for $100,000 tho….

Oil pump?? In motors?? How will they fix that??
Gearbox has no pump.
I change Gearbox oil every year because of torque on the gears.
