The current order is for 100,000 cars, including 50,000 for Uber.

All of these orders means lost vehicle sales for GM & Nissan.

GM and Nissan used the rental agencies to dump low margin/ poorly selling cars and boost sales numbers. These were not very profitable cars.

One of the crazy things about the Tesla deal is Tesla is not discounting these cars to dump them, they are selling them at full price. I’m sure there are some accommodations and logistics assistance, but otherwise they are paying full price. Consumers will soon be getting a better price due to government incentives.

Tesla‘s share value was like a coil under tension. It was already moving and the Hertz thing just triggered a huge swing.

It looks very much like the House version.

$4000 base
$3500 if the car has a battery 40kWh or bigger.
$4500 for Union made
$ 500 for domestic made batteries.

Truck max is $74,000
SUVs $69,000
Vans $64,000
Anything else $55,000

So ? PHEVs still get $8500
Teslas get $8000

Lightning gets $12,000 so long as it’s union made and under $74,000.

It is shameful and complete disrespect and slap in the face to the hard work by Tesla engineers and factory workers that GM will be allowed to slap together low innovation & environment destroying PHEVs and these GM PHEVs will get more subsidy than Tesla.

I shouldn’t be quite so frustrated about his, PHEVs are environmentally a lot better than the full ICE vehicles they are displacing. It’s just a bit insane the $$ difference.
