In 4 years how much more value will the Foundation Series have over normal?

Serious thought. Not trolling. (People think I'm always trolling for some reason lol)

A lot of people are using the included accessories to help justify the FS cost. (Which is totally reasonable).

But if that's the case, then how much are we thinking the etched emblems are really worth whenever it comes to resale vs a CT without the emblems?

Realistically, they're the exact same truck (if optioned the same).

Anyone own a founders version of other Teslas and want to weigh in?

Again, not saying anyone is making a bad decision or anything. Just curious

None, they will keep getting cheaper and cheaper. China is making so many electric vehicles with more range at a much cheaper price. I’m glad I waited 5-6 months to order the Cybertruck.

Really do not know how much the normal versions will actually be. It's currently just an est price range. Nor how much premium connectivity will cost in 3 years, fsd, accessories, limited features, etc.

It's not much of a price bump rather than a required bundle that other companies have done in the past and is reasonable if you wanted to get something much earlier and don't mind paying for the bundle.

Most buy this Cybertruck esp FS because it's unlike anything currently on the market, including the tech inside.

If you are having to calculate the impact, then it is too much.

No one has ever said that A Foundation Series is something that you must have, just as they have never said the same about a Tesla. They are indeed premium vehicles.

If you have to extend yourself to buy one, don't. a car or a truck isn't worth it.

The only thing FS buys you is the front of the line. I see no additional value down the line, and if Tesla improves the battery chemistry (and thus range), or fixes other things that have been mentioned, then the value could decrease.

We've already established that I'm not getting one. I just keep checking my account for the FS to turn into the normal AWD. But that's also not really the question.

Not a buying decision. More of a thought exercise.

With the battery chemistry of the 4680s supposedly adding 10-20% range I think the FS value may drop off a cliff.
I think most people would much rather have a new 4680 CT that gets say 240miles of real world range as opposed to one with the FS badge etc that gets 200 or less.
Would love to have a FS in my garage right now but long term given the choice would take the non FS on the battery issue alone even if they were the same price.

This really can’t be predicted. It’s not a limited run vehicle like the Raptor R as there were only 5000 of them made and quite a few are still sitting on dealers lots.
There will likely be demand for the CT beast in the first year as it’s very limited currently but not being able to sell without written permission could be a big problem. There’s only so many people willing to spend $120k on a truck but I would have a guess that the first few hundred could make a $20-30k profit after resale clause ends. The problem will be if Tesla make any drastic changes in the 2025 model that could drop the price if the FS. They might already be $20k cheaper by then maybe more.

I think it is a limited run trim. We just don't know how limited.

Mostly highway.
But 10-20% city, highway, or goat path is a pretty big bump in range.
