If CT sales numbers are terrible my hypothesis is that Tesla will start to reduce features in newer trucks so that the cost and selling price can be reduced. I also expect that poor sales performance will move up the time table for a model refresh which would normally happen no sooner than 3-4 years after the model is introduced.
I think that the RWD truck gives some insight to this as Tesla has slashed the price of the truck $10,000 while it is highly unlikely that the feature omissions account for that full price drop.
My personal speculation is that they will give up sooner on the sail pillars and unusual bed configuration sooner than people might believe. I think late 2027 we will be getting a pretty different Cybertruck.
