My whine is a little noticeable, but what I found was that when I was doing 60mph and I turned on the slippery road mode, I get a pulsing high pitched annoying whine that pulsates on and off continuously. Shut off slippery mode and it went normal with barely any noise. Repeated it a few times and same result. Could someone else check if theirs makes the pulsing whine when that mode is on at about 60 mph? I turned it on due to slushy snow on the roads.

I think its normal. I immediately noticed it as well coming from an X and a Y. I've grown to like it. Sounds futuristic.

Mine is louder when it's cold, probably until the oil gets warmed up in the differentials.

I’m not complaining about this whine, it just seems louder than I am used to compared to our S and X. At about 40 mph it is moderately loud - both when the accelerator pedal is pressed and when it is regenerating.
I am just trying to assess what is normal.
Thanks
I just took 2 service techs for a drive and they said it was the normal sound of the electricity transfer in the motors. If it was a bearing issue, it would sound different. I hope this helps!

CT will be my first tesla, is it still quieter than ICE engine noises?
WAY quieter than an ICE car/truck!!

We were on Odyssey 11.2 and did some 'target shooting' (no, not at anyone's CT) and at one point, I hopped in the truck and closed the door... Could BARELY hear the gunshots!! Seriously!! And we're talking 9mm's and even an AR-15 (and some other kind of rifle, don't know the caliber, but it was loud too). Sounded like I still had my ear protectors on and it was even quieter than they were!

That's one thing you need to realize... It's soooooo quiet that you hear noises you never would have heard before... like someone whispering in the back seats... hehe...

So, if you're hearing 'motor' noise, just turn on the tunes... even at a low volume they will wash out the sound... Unlike an ICE vehicle where you would have to crank up the volume to max...

My CT is the 3rd CT I’ve driven and they all have a similar gear whine, which I like.

EDIT: Reminds me of this. ?
