I ordered the single motor, but would prefer a dual.
Wonder if there’s anyone wanting to go the other way so neither of us would have to start over.

You can change your spec to a dual without losing your place in reservation line. In fact, you should receive the dual more quickly.

currently, single motor group is last in line.

Thanks, y’all…that’s great news.
I called a couple of Tesla stores, but no one knew!

What's the increase in price for the dual motor CT?

I changed my single-motor to a dual-motor while keeping my Reservation Number, and presumably my place in line. I would actually change it to a Tri-Motor, but the modification does reset the FSD pre-order price and it's increased by $3k since 2019.

Did you FSD reserved before?

I actually ordered FSD prior to the increase, but it shows on my order as 10k.
Of course, I foolishly didn’t take a screen shot back when I first ordered :(

How did you change yours, just online?
Tesla store told me it would put me at the end, so I’d like to do exactly what you did!
Thanks!

Everyones FSD option shows at 10k. The FSD price will depend one when you placed your preorder or made an adjustment to your preorder, don't worry about what it says on your account.

However if you made a chance like removed FSD and put it back, or even changed what trim level you are going to get, that might have changed your price to the new price.

If you go to your account on the Tesla website, you can change your reservation. It doesn't really matter though, I'm positive when people are contacted for deliveries, they'll be able to select anything they want for the order. Since you'll have to choose whether you want options or not anyway.

Yes, I just modified my order online, which did not change my Reservation Number. But as others have noted, it probably doesn't matter.

What's the increase in price for the dual motor CT?
If you are picking up your CT around this time in 2024 and prices keep increasing like it did for Y this month, dual motor should increase by $36K (in addition to the $10K from single to dual) unless you believe folks that say inflation is temporary.

A) This isn't inflation
B) The Model Y has only increased by $3500

-Crissa
Both valid points.

A) In that case whatever it is plus inflation can do more damage.
B) Obviously I don’t expect CT to be $36K more. Drama in the numbers I used was just to make the point that we saw Y prices going down and expected that to be predictive of where prices going in future. We were surprised by seeing the opposite. This time price increase may be for supply shortage, next time it could be because Tesla needs to show higher profits to share holders or has to pay for a massive recall or couple of new factories. All I am saying is that there is no guarantee what the price of CT will be in four years. Of course I am crossing my fingers uncertainty means we get it for less but deep down, I know that is just wishful thinking.
