Thank goodness, no! The way I use my truck it would look really haggard if I had wrapped it. Instead it still looks like new:

Admittedly, I have only been offroad a few times, but I had PPF installed and then ceramic coated. I agree that it makes no sense to "protect" something that is bulletproof, but I wanted a color change and didn't want vinyl. Plus, the ceramic coating makes it MUCH easier to clean. (Yes, curious again, can you ceramic coat stainless steel)?

When I first got mine, I thought I would wrap it for sure but could not settle on a color. Then I went to a shop and the wanted $5k so I thought about doing it myself. I the meantime the stainless started to develop a patina and the finger prints went away. I then realized I had the truck for 3 months and hadn't washed it once and it looked great.

Exactly! The stainless steel needs to self-passivate. According to scientific literature this happens mostly in two days. But my experience has been that it keeps getting better, and more fingerprint resistant, as it continues to passivate. Water, especially slightly acidic water, seems to help. Washing it with clear rinsing soap with no additives that coat the metal seems to help keep it looking great with minimal effort. When it's new, wash it with dishwashing detergent and warm water to strip off oils that may remain from manufacture as these can discolor and inhibit self-passivation.

I will never apply a coating to stainless steel because all coatings eventually fail and then the surface will need to be restored. More labor. Most coatings will also inhibit self-passivation by preventing oxygen from getting to the surface of the metal.

You can ceramic-coat, and I did. The surface becomes highly hydrophobic, reduces fingerprints, and makes it far easier to clean. As with all ceramic jobs, the real work is in the prep.

It won't last long if you're frequently bushwhacking, tho :ROFLMAO:

Sure Gus, but the question was about … you know … whether you’ve wrapped your car. 🤣
Truck should be naked

Other parts should be "wrapped"

I'd rather spray paint it with paint or bedliner. It's a truck, so it belongs offroad, where vinyl gets ripped and torn.

I will admit to intrusive thoughts of coating it with Cerakote or AlumaHyde in a Coyote Brown.

Another intrusive thought: stainlessness steel can be etched.

Naked Cybertruck Driver: “Officer, I swear it was wrapped up a second ago. Must have come off when I was bushwhacking through the woods.”
LEO: “You must not be from around here son. I reckon you lost it well before the bushwackin’ Round here we call that Sunnin’ in the woods. But we keep it in the woods, ya hear?”
Naked Cybertruck Driver: “A lot of folks told me it’s better without a wrap, so I…”
LEO: “Step out of the car for me, sir”
