Personally I have a hard time paying $500 for an Aux Lightbar much less $1500-$8k!!!! My use case is a bit more light on dark dirt roads / maybe trapped after dark on some 4x4 once every 10 years, but for $8k I'd expect to see and talk to the man upstairs when I turn it on!

Im sure there's a small % of people that need it and it's worth significant $'s, but count me out at >$1k as there's many other accessories I'd look at first: disconnect sway bars, steel bumpers, the rest of tesla's accessories, etc

I went ahead and kept digging about LEP modules... they are EXPENSIVE. And in short supply. So short that there aren't even volume discounts available to a general electronics manufacturer. Each module is $120-$200, depending on specifications. Sure, tesla is certainly getting a volume discount that I can't dig up, but leds are ~$6 with no qty discount, so that gives you an idea. There are also many emitters across the light bar.

This could end up being a surprisingly expensive accessory, although it's hard to fathom it being $3000-8000 and just being included with beast, which also gets the 4k installation credit.

Being included with beast orders, which has the same FS premium as AWD, is the only reason I'll be surprised if it's many thousands of dollars.

My guess all along has been $3,000. That’s why I think the beast is a better deal. That plus $4,000 installation credit means the real difference in price is $13,000 for a Plaid version essentially. And most of the AWD buyers will loose the $2800 in power share equipment because they won’t want to pay $4,000 plus to a Tesla approved installer to get the equipment put in.
So that makes the spread about $10,000 lol

This is true which has been giving me pause. FS premium on beast is undoubtedly the better value compared to AWD, but the availability is a real concern. How long will it be before they really build the beasts? For that matter, will they ever actually build the light bar and if so, will it really be the super high end LEP? Or are they going to say they decided not to build it an offer 6 months of free supercharging? Plus, how much of a range hit will it cause? It looks like it would really disrupt airflow over the peak of the truck.
I agonized all weekend about AWD versus beast. My PowerShare install will likely be on the higher end of the cost because I need about 60' of wire from my main panel to the garage. For some reason I never got the survey so I have no idea if I will be approved. If I knew I was approved that 4k credit would probably be close to the actual cost so that is real value for me.
The light bar is much harder to value. They are cool but I certainly don't need it. They are expensive and while it may be nice to have I would never buy one. How do you value a freebie that you wouldn't want to buy yourself? I suppose maybe it would have value to resell. But I can't resell it until they actually build it and no one will be able to buy it until they have CTs.
I finally decided that with all that the AWD is the better value for me mostly because I can barely stomach spending $100k on a vehicle and just can't justify to myself another $20k on top of that, regardless of the value. Getting it sooner (hopefully) is an important secondary consideration.

Great points. Just comes down to what works for you.

I have the light bar and so far my initial experience is that it's not that great. I doubt it is a laser LED bar. The high beams illuminate and seem like they are brighter. I would say the high beams on the truck are laser and the off-road light bar is just standard LEDs,

How do you test it? To see what kind of LEDS

Yea I originally thought they were providing a better light bar. Seems they cheaped out on it based on what I have read. My vin is in the 8,000 range. They keep saying they are sending out the light bars based on vins. No word for me yet. Is yours higher or lower?

I was reading this thread and people are saying cyberbeast owners get the light bar for free bases on VIN? I don't recall seeing this when I ordered

Oem Lightbar is extremely bright. I have one on each of my beasts. I’ll try and find the actual specs of the lightbar

Retail cost is $2500+ $500 install at Tesla .
Not yet available to order outside of FS Beast VIN
