Hate that mine is now stuck on the same USB sound with or without the USB installed. Can’t reset or change the old USB sound.

Toybox won't let you change the lock sound?

I also got the latest update and I see the new interface to change the lock sound but when I try to change it from the list of available lock sounds, it doesn't actually work when I lock the car. It plays nothing.

Also the horn sound changer doesn't work either.

In my opinion, the new native lock sound, sounds like something is broken in the folding mirrors. I was at tassel for another reason and I showed them that I thought my folding mirrors are broken because I sounded like gears grinding or something. They told me it was the new locking sound that I could change.

I wasn’t clear. I added a transformer lock sound and loaded it on my USB. Now, I can’t change it. I want to change the usb wav to a light saber sound and when I add it to the USB and delete the old sound, the old sound is still there. Like it loaded it on to the dang CT hard drive.

I placed a new “LockChime.wav” on my USB and was able to install it.

I’ve been allergic to wav files from my teenage years being a Mac user. It didn’t use to play well without Windows so I’ve stayed away from it. I don’t mind the lossless format, more so on the file size and compatibility.
It pre-exists Windows and was developed by IBM.

It's faster to load than an AIFF (the Amiga format) like Macs used. It mattered back then.

The Mac will play WAV, but has only minimal tools for editing them. I ended up exporting from Garageband, but still had to use VLC to re-export as mono in order to stay under the 1MB limit.

There are probably better opensource tools (I've seen "Audacity" mentioned)
Audacity works great on Mac for getting the file under a meg

Have you tried re-booting? I bet that might clear it from the cache.

I did a soft reset with the buttons but not a hard reboot if that’s what you mean.
In my case, the Toybox shows the custom lock sounds only as "USB":

If I recall, I had to change it to something else, and then change it back to USB. It does appear to cache the custom sound, so that it will still work with the thumbdrive removed, so selecting a different sound "flushes" the cache.

I figured it out. In order to change the usb saved sound so it will play a newly downloaded sound, I had to prior to inserting the usb drive in the CT, I had to go into boombox and select any other factory sound (switch out of USB), then insert the usb in the truck, then reelect usb. I have seen folks trying everything to fix this even hard reboots. I don’t think many folks have experienced this problem.

Thanks for reporting back on the fix.

Too many people visit forums for help, and when they solve their problem, they vanish without sharing their findings.
