Hey there

I have a Cyberbeast Foundation Series early 30k VIN. I don't recall how many times I've been to the SC for so many issues, mostly small defects and damage caused by the service centers while fixing other things, which is super annoying. You take it in for one thing, and they end up damaging your floor trim or something. But one issue that remains unresolved is the headliner.

The windshield was scratched during service at the Paramus, NJ, service center, and they agreed to replace it. After they replaced it, the cabin and wind noise increased dramatically, and the new windshield was all wobbly and distorted. I went to another SC in Totowa, NJ, and they replaced it again and fixed most of the issues from the first replacement. But the headliner still has a big gap in the middle, where the speaker is, and after 3 or 4 visits for it, it only gets worse. Last time, they said they tried something new from the service manual or something, but still nothing. Now even the left side has a gap from the roof glass, and there's also a high-pitched noise coming from time to time around the right side of the headliner.

Has anyone had this issue so far, or knows a fix to make it sit flush and not pop out on bumpy roads? I have seen many Cybertrucks. Not all are super flush, but at least they don't pop out on bumpy roads, which is super annoying. Here are a few pictures:

OMG.... I hate to hear about stuff like that.... I am in NJ also and take my 2026 Model Y to Totowa.... nice service center, and no problems for me yet, but my car is still new.... I am going to sell my Model Y or give it to my wife and get myself a CT, but I am waiting a little while longer....this seems like a pretty serious issue with no resolution after multiple attempts.... I hope this gets fixed correctly or you can get a buy back... Tesla needs to do right by you... Please keep us updated.

Have you thought of requesting a Buy Back?
I was offered, but honestly, I think I'll get a much worse offer if I buy a new one now, with no lifetime FSD and no free charging. The truck is driving great. It's just these annoying minor things that need to be resolved, which should not be that hard, but somehow they are making it. I think most technicians don't give two fucks about their work, as long as it's somewhat satisfactory. There is a great tech at Totowa, but I think even he is overworked, and I'm not sure how much longer his patience will last before he starts slacking as well.

Part of the problem is the auto mechanic shortage in the US. It’s hard to retain mechanics at dealerships around the country. The average hourly wage for a Tesla technician is $27.79 an hour. That pencils out to roughly $58k per year.

Yeah, got the message from the tech. They replaced the whole assembly/clips, etc., and it still hangs in the middle. Most likely, it's the mounting points glued to the roof glass that can't be adjusted. My only option now is to find a 3rd-party tech to maybe swap out the clip for a closer fit.
