So here is my 2 CENTS…………….

YES I own a CYBERTRUCK, and with that being said:
Is it a great truck? Yes, I love it!
Is it a perfect truck? No, it has it’s flaws.

I’ve had Rams, Chevys, Fords, 4X4 Sprinter vans.
Each one of these has had it’s Highs and Lows.

2003 Ford F350 Crew Cab Dually:
Broke down with 36 miles on it. Injectors went bad and Hydro locked the motor. Got it back and blew the motor again with 2200 miles on it. Fixed again and was the best hauling, towing vehicle for that year and motor (HP and torque).i loved it. Motor blew again with 21,000 on it and was Lemon Lawed and my money was returned.

2011 Duramax Crew Cab:
Turbo went bad with 6,xxx miles. Driver side window motor needed replacing. 20,xxx miles complete transmission rebuild. 35,xxx miles front differential needed replacing. But in between the problems it was a great truck. Sold with 56,xxx miles.

2018 Ram 3500 Crew Cab:
Awesome truck for The first two years. But slowly watched the bed rust out. Im over the top with cleaning and washing but to no avail the bed basically rusted to the point where they replaced the bed.” Warranty”. Cummins and Aisin transmission were bulletproof. Sold with 76,xxx miles.

2020 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 255 Passenger 4x4
Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!!!!!! Drove awesome for a 22’ Thermos on wheels. Great gas mileage. Took many trips with the family. Beach, mountains, volleyball tournaments, Home Depot trips. BUT……… at 13,xxx miles the complete emissions system needed replacing. Went into Limp Mode at 11:00 PM and was stuck in the middle of nowhere with 4 young kids and a wife who was not so happy. Fixed and enjoyed for another god knows how many miles and road tripping.

Stick with me, I’m getting to my point…….

So each and every vehicle had its Goods and Bads.
And everyone had their opinion, “ Shoulda bought a Ford” , “ Thats why you don’t buy a Chevy”, “Rams suck”, “ That Sprinter Van is ugly as sin”, but you know what? It was my choice, I bought it. I lived with the flaws of each one of these trucks. And also lived with the upsides. And I also never put someone down for their choice in their vehicle. If your a Ford guy, good for you, enjoy your F250, if your a Chevy guy, have fun with your Silverado, if your a Ram guy, haul the the heck out of everything with the Cummins. You like a tin can van then go on your excursions and have a blast. That’s your choice and you have every right to defend your “Brand”. I chose to buy a Cybertruck. I like the looks of it. I love the performance. It’s a piece of art to me that I can take with me every time I sit my backside down in the drivers seat. Am I a converted Electric car person? No, but each vehicle has its place. I sure wouldn’t take it on a cross country trek with a toy hauler on the back. Would definitely choose a Diesel Pickup for mileage, hauling capability, and torque. But that’s not why I bought it. I bought it because I LIKED IT. My choice. I saw a guy at the local convenience store with a brand new ZO6 Corvette. Not a Corvette person but I actually admired it. Sleek lines, killer exhaust, and just it’s presence was an overall, Hell yeah from me. The owner of it, saw it somewhere, liked and at some point bought it. Good for him. I saw a 60’s VW bus next to me at a stop light and thought to myself “ What a cool piece of machinery”. You have to be a car/truck guy or gal to get it. So my point is, why the hate for a vehicle that you might not like or ever buy? I for one would NEVER demean or ridicule an owner for their vehicle choice or for their unexpected breakdown. Some people like art, I don’t get it, some people like wine, tastes like crap to me, others like golf, couldn’t hit that ball to save my life. But those things aren’t for me. But they might be someone else’s passion. Good for them! Enjoy! So for all the hate for a “truck” is absolutely ridiculous to me. Maybe it’s not your thing, maybe jealousy overrides common decency, or maybe you just don’t like the looks of it. Well keep it to yourself and let the person who owns it not have to deal with the ignorance and let them have fun with their choice in a vehicle. Enjoy your Passion. Enjoy your CYBERTRUCK!

Well said. Unfortunately Tesla is the popular company to hate on right now. When I've talked about my experience online in other places there is a pretty even split of "it's so ugly and you're dumb for buying it" and "Elon is a terrible person running a terrible company and you're supporting evil."

I am with you! Not the variety of your experience, but I drive a vehicle to its end. I love the versatility of a truck. We camp, sometimes tow, lug SCUBA gear to the dive site, and the usual Home Depot or bulky object trip.

My Ford F150 Lariat has been great! I bought it new in 2000 - the year before the crew cab came out (it is an extended cab). Got it home to find that the only way it fit in the garage was to take out the hitch from the receiver, clear the front wall of the garage, and kiss it with the front plate - the tail cleared the door by a half inch (generous). Needles to say, it lived outside in the Texas sun (not firendly to clear coats).

It has towed a camper across half the country, been used in search and rescue missions, been on many road trips, and helped us remodel the old house.

Over 24 years of ownership, she has has issues. Nearing 250K miles now. The leather has worn through (as have three sets of leather covers), the clear coat os almost gone, the paint on the hood and roof is about gone. The annual repairs on an old truck have been about $1500, but she has been good to me.

My Cybertruck will tow more, carry more, have a full crew cab, has a larger bed (with no wheel well intrusion), but is actually slightly smaller than my old Ford. Additionally, it has the performance of a sports car and is a visual indicator of change. In other words, it suits me.

If everyone had the same tastes and needs, there would only be one car, one style of clothing, and one restaurant.

I am excited about the change while still having the utility and versatility my Ford F150 gave me.

Now, if only Oct-Dec would get here so I can meet my Beast! Which is always more difficult when I see someone elses CT - like tonight, parked in front of Hugos in Las Colinas!

I was driving with my windows down yesterday. At a stoplight I heard "Hey, Cybertruck!" I turned my head and a goofy looking kid in his 20's says "This isn't on you but, this is the first one I've seen, and It kinda looks like shit." I reply, "Thank you" then he says, "How much did that cost?" I say "$100,000" he says, "Wow, you have more money than I'll ever have." :ROFLMAO:

I finally met an internet troll in real life! This thing sure gets reactions!

Well said. Unfortunately Tesla is the popular company to hate on right now. When I've talked about my experience online in other places there is a pretty even split of "it's so ugly and you're dumb for buying it" and "Elon is a terrible person running a terrible company and you're supporting evil."
It's kind of ironic. The non-profit Open AI, founded and initially funded by Elon, has now turned into a for profit company that has unleashed web bots for hire, programmed to discredit Tesla and Elon.

In real life the positive reactions are over the top! By creating negativity online, they think they can make people afraid to buy it.

Last night my wife and I were leaving a restraunt and walking the two blocks back to my Cybertruck when I saw a group of 20-30-somethings walking by the sidewalk next to my parking spot. I could tell they were talking about my Cybertruck, but I couldn't hear what they were saying. As they got closer, the tall one said, "That's my truck" to us, as he turned around and pointed at my Cybertruck. They had no idea we had any affiliation with it, so I opened my eyes wide and said, "Wow! That looks like a really nice truck" as he agreed with me, and they continued down the sidewalk.

We got in and caught up to them in about a block, I rolled by slowly, window down, and one of them saw it and said, "that's so badass", I responded by pointing to the tall guy and simply said, "yeah, it's his". That got a good laugh out of all of them as they realized I was the same guy he had just bragged to that it was his. :ROFLMAO:

Just made me laugh. Got my first thumbs down in a month of driving. On the same trip about a dozen pics en route and about 12 people in the lot loving it.

Does this happen to other EVs or vehicles? New experience! It's like people forget it's not the Internet but real life and it just reflects poorly on their personality.
