And on a global basis, the differences would be even starker. For example, the US isn't even Tesla's biggest market -- China is. And Rivian and Lucid have never sold any vehicles in China.

From a person who had a Lucid and now a CB. There’s many factors to determine the mileage you get - weight, drag, tires, motors and how heavy is your right foot. When I had my Lucid, I was getting about 80% of the claimed range, which doesn’t sound much, but was still better then most EVs out there. I still think the Lucid has the best motors out there, but that can’t be it. Even though the weight are similar, the drag, tires and how heavy your right foot plays a big role on your range. Oh, I have to agree with Elon. For most drivers, having 300 miles is more than enough. I’m even thinking 250. No one out there can go for more then 300 miles without a pit stop.

That's not accounting for the fact that those miles can be almost cut in half under certain conditions, and rated miles are rarely met in most conditions. So no, Elon is very wrong.

No one out there can go for more then 300 miles without a pit stop.

The cyber truck is a truck. I use it for truck things that means there are things sticking above the tonneau cover (destroying aero) and towing. 301 miles is insufficient because the actual range when towing is about 100.

Elon agreed with me when he unveiled the cyber truck. He and AJ only changed their minds after they realized that they couldn’t actually *deliver* 500 miles. My needs have not changed.

Even in my model S plaid to compete with any other car that I’ve owned in my entire life 350 (which means 400+ rated) is the minimum because you’re not going to get the rated range on simple things like driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles which is a common use case for these vehicles. I don’t wanna stop two times to charge or even one time on that trip. So this 300 nonsense is bogus I don’t know who you people are that only go to Costco and home but that isn’t what the general driving public does out west. We have places to go and they are not close.

And Elon knows this because his biggest market before it became China and he went MAGA was Southern California!

Right, but the right tires can mitigate this, trains have less rolling resistance than the a Civic(extreme example I know). On my Model S I would air up to 60PSI and get better range, at the loss of comfort.

Don't forget CT has very wide tires, and the A/Ts (310 mile range) have a more aggressive tread than All Seasons, which add 10 miles (according to Tesla) of range. Throw an extra 500# on top of that and it's more than nothing. Yes, aero is undoubtedly the biggest single contributor, but not the only one.
