My only conclusion is that at lower latitudes, the angle needed for connection is too great.
Like I mentioned before, I would have a connection holding it in my arms and move into the car under the star window, and not have a connection.
However, I'm about the same latitude as LA, and I imagine they have a connection. So, are there variations in ceiling glass or factory tints based on delivery areas? I doubt that too.
All I can say with certainty is that some people can get a connection while others can't.
Lastly, my connection depends on a northerly orientation. How do people maintain a connection while driving unless their "dish" follows a compass heading? Does a connection also need a certain longitude to have a broader connection field? For clarity, my longitude has Phoenix and maybe the suburbs of SLC, and that's about all, population-wise.
