Tesla gave me a model X plaid today as a loaner. The sound system in the model X plaid is superior in every way to the cyber truck. I could not believe how good it was. Anyone else agree with this?
I just got a loaner X plaid and thought the sound system was very good, but not better than the CyberTruck. It was a 2024, what year model was the you got?

We have a 2024 and in my opinion it’s the best stock sound system I have ever heard in a car.
Maybe the specs got better in 2025? Don’t know.
As I’ve been saying though I think the CT sound system is almost as impressive.
Splitting hairs to say which is better. Truly.

In my opinion, even the M Y sounds better in some ways.. unfortunately i think the system is a miss and not ā€œsublimeā€ as they describe… the subwoofers vibrate the floor trim over them like a 86 corolla with a 1000w sub in the trunk. Even with the padding the sc put there after 2 visits its not what i was expecting.

What did you say to get them to add padding and what exactly did they do? Did it make a difference?

Please Tesla. Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top and sprinkles….make a model x with steer by wire and 4 wheel steering.
Throw in a front camera while you’re at it and I’ll whip out my checkbook instantly.
The recent ā€œrefreshā€ was weak sauce.
Thanks for the wheels covers and accent lights. I’d expect that from Teslaunch, not Lars and Franz and Wes.
Still a few module and firmware bugs to work out from the 48v architecture; also it would require an entire rework of the electro-mechanical systems lol, so they might as well be designing a new vehicle.

Whatever it takes. That’s the state of the art.
They themselves kicked the goalposts further away with the CT.
But if that’s going to be the flagship ā€œcarā€ and sell for flagship prices, it needs to also have the state of the art stuff.

I just picked up a 26 MXP for my wife and I don't think the sound system is better.
Congrats. It’s an amazing car. Wouldn’t trade ours for anything else. Please don’t take my above criticism to mean otherwise. I just think it deserved a lot more than it got in the refresh.

I didn’t take this harshly at all. I agree that given the tech in the CT that the S & X should’ve gotten more. I’d have really liked to see the 48V system to enable drive by wire, faster charging speeds, outlets in the hatch space, etc. however they don’t really sell very well, which is too bad because they’re great cars.

Test drove both. CT audio sounds slightly better than 2026 X to my ears. My test drive of X was disappointing. Ride not very good…I heard suspension noise over every imperfection as if lacking subframe…even in comfort mode. Wind and road noise…significant! 3rd row is atrocious.

But FSD did work great in X.

Just need to be precise here. Only the Plaid models have the 22 speaker/960w system.

So, anybody comparing an X or an S that isn’t specifically comparing the Plaid ā€œpremium audioā€ versions is probably correct in terms of sound quality being better in the CT. Some have said they are but many of these comments do not.

Gotta at least be comparing the right apples and oranges.
