The fact that they are bringing the old one out. The fact that there are 2. The fact that it’s calles the Cyber Rodeo and not Giga Rodeo. The fact that there are Cyber Planters.

Probably means nothing.

I see things in tea leaves too.
All my thoughts. Yes master

I’m sure they are two identical CTs to show the public it’s not a on-off anymore, and to allow the 15,000 people at the rodeo a chance to actually see one/take rides without waiting 3 days.
the one on the right looks taller......possibly filled with the 8Ton giga press parts.....😂

Also, Sunset Cyber Strolling.

Not an oops. People see what Tesla wants them to see.
Oh dude, I agree hugely. If they wanted it to be hidden, it would be hidden. They have a gazillion annex / containers to hide trucks and cars in if they want. Generate buz. I’ve thought for weeks cyber rodeo is a cybertruck even. Unveil its new soon to be factory!

That's one of the original versions, the give away is simply the curved front windscreen and front end on the newer versions.

Sure it's nice that they are bringing these classics out, but deep down I'm worried a bit that there are not many of these things around at all. Especially to show off. It's April.

Is there a chance that the Stainless Steel supply is harder than expected, and that we might not get a SS version because of cost? Sort of throws everything up in the air tho then. Maybe healthier to not think about it.... :(

I heard they are switching to molded composites to save on metal costs. Same benefits but less expensive. Same stuff they make trash cans out of, they’ll last 100 years.

They keep the color by wrapping it in foil. If if gets scratched off, you just use a little spray on glue and foil from your kitchen.

I'm sure there are way more prototypes but those are prob in pieces used for testing and what not...I think it's great to have a comparison from what the idea was in 2019 and what they have come up with now in 2022...he will hopefully showcase all the little improvements they have now. Can't hardly wait!!

With 3D CAD/level 3 BIM (but for cars) I don't think more than a few full prototypes are actually required. I bet there are 1000's of prototype sub assemblies that have been built, tested and most already destroyed. Tesla will have so much information/lessons learned already from testing of the Model Y with structural pack and mega casting that the full prototypes aren't required. They aren't like Rivian, basically starting from scratch.

We will start seeing 10 plus units ~2-4 months before production release. The large volumes of pre production Ys were a bit of an anomaly IMHO because of the factory certification process delays. I think they were killing some time and working out some kinks differently than they would normally.

What I still can't get over is the apparent colour differences on the side panels. It really looks like its intentional, to show a silver, darker grey and copper tinted SS finish.
I don't think it's different colors. I think it's the same steel, same color, same finish, but different "finish alignment" for lack of a better term. Like when you mow you lawn and each direction after the mow looks like a different shade of green...or when the pros at baseball fields and football fields do the same thing intentionally.

If I'm right and that is the case, I do think it is something that will have to be addressed in the production vehicles. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy it, but I'd certainly prefer the finished product to have the same "finish alignment".

My finish will be dust, mud, rocks flung up from the tires, and whatever effect driving through trees and brush has.

If folks are overly worried about this, they should have bought something less industrial like the Rivian.

New Cybertruck colors…. :p

Could be some new super-secret features…. Or as @ED_SFO suggests, they just cleaned them and want to keep them clean.

What I want to know is WTF the red thing is under the Model X? Here

It looks like a hovering car mover. basically a hover craft to lift the car, truck, whatever enough to "slide" it around.
