Is that an OSHA approved surface? Stay off it when it's wet!
You have to step up onto it, so it's more of a decoration than a walking surface. Like a reflecting pool, but solid.

PS: I didn't get the joke, but I can appreciate the effort.

I think we‘ve proven that any idiot can take daddy’s money and grow up to become President, but one must be 35 years old.
Sure, sure you often get presidents that are no smarter than the voters.... Like most other democracies nowadays.

But my point was that I wouldn't be surprised if EM isn't grooming at least some of his kids to take over meaningful leadership roles in order to make progress to set up a Mars colony.

I didn't realise there was a minimum age for President, but in saying that, his oldest kids would be there earlier anyway, say in 16 years, and he has enough kids to keep them in power for at least decades, maybe nearly a century?

Both intriguing and scary at the same time.

CATL, one of Tesla's largest battery suppliers is building Europe's largest battery plant in Hungary.

------------------------------------

Focus: German car giants and Asian battery kings: a match made in Hungary.
China's CATL, the world's No. 1 EV battery maker, Korean battery giants SK Innovation and Samsung SDI.
Vehicle plants by BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi.

.....
State incentives and the opportunity for automakers and battery suppliers to work next door to each other is proving a strong pull, according to interviews with about 20 industry players and consultants in Germany, Hungary, China and South Korea.

China's CATL (300750.SZ), the world's No. 1 EV battery maker, and Korean battery giants SK Innovation (096770.KS) and Samsung SDI, all told Reuters that the planned proximity to German carmakers was a key factor in their decisions to invest in Hungary, as well as being able to source separators and other components there. CATL is investing $7.6 billion to build Europe's largest battery plant in Hungary. This plant and the $2.1 billion BMW factory will both be sited in the city of Debrecen, which is attracting an ecosystem of suppliers, ranging from makers of brakes and battery cathodes to industrial machinery.

Mercedes-Benz is converting its factory in Kecskemet to produce electric cars, while Volkswagen's (VOWG_p.DE) Audi is making cars and electric motors in Gyor.

You'd have to be born there though...a real life Martian, not just a UAP. ;)

I don't think there will be a president on Mars, but he will need as much political support on earth as possible to get a colony there. So having your own choice of candidates here would be handy.

I know the US Constitution requires it, but I'm not sure the Martian Constitution does will. :alien:

It will be a hard one to enforce, and leave the planet leaderless for about 35 years... so maybe it's just first come, first serve? :)

The general discussion around "planetary" issues interests me. How would one go about establishing Earth 2.0, given what we know, and believe now? We don't even really know if humans remain fertile in space or on other planets, let alone the long term consequences on the body of low gravity, environment etc.

But those are all problems we need to solve "if" we get there. My main question is, what needs to be done here to make sure we do? Personally, I have no particular desire to move there, except to experience it in a working holiday or so, but I do see many benefits to making it work, also for those on earth. How else would we advance technology otherwise, except through war? We went from not-flying to the moon in some 56years over WW1-WW2.

Article II states:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Without such weasel-wording, no one could have been President until the US was al least 35 years old.

I have watched the Expanse... twice! :) One of my favourites.

Terra-forming blue alien protomolecule goo seems the way to go. Solves politics too. 😁
