So frustrating, wait for weeks for an appointment only to have them postpone for another week. There is about 0% chance they fix it if they even really try.

Got my truck back today. Problem could not be duplicated after a 5 minute drive, I told them it only happens on long 1.5 hour plus drives. They replaced the GPS antenna, Car Computer and Windshield Harness. Next long drive on Sunday, fingers crossed!

Great news!
My solution was to wait an extra minute or two before driving off. It seems to want to warm up a bit first.

this is due to defect IMU unit. The entire computer needs to be replaced because it the unit itself is not easily replaceable. I had this issue for months before and now it is fully fixed.

You need to go back to the locations where this drift happened, and confirm it reproduce consistently at these locations. For me, it was at one particular street that is uphill with many turns and stops. I think the acceleration in different dimensions triggered that defect IMU unit.

Service center may drive it to other roads and tell you everything is fine. So make sure you record the screen while driving at those specific locations, and show the video to them, and explicitly tell them to go to the same place to reproduce, and that they should be able to find similar case (hopefully my case is in their system) as reference.

They may still choose to replace gps / gps antenna first as a first low cost attempt. Go to the same location to try, record and show them again that the replacement doesn’t work. Then they will be convinced to replace the computer which is way more expensive (to Tesla).

Yep, totally makes sense. They did replace the "Car Computer" this time. GPSs in the past and again this time. They totally shot gunned it even the harness leading to the windshield housing. I'm doing 'the drive' Sunday that always triggers mine; fingers crossed.

I think it's fixed! Six hour drive and no problems! Computer replacement.
