Pulling up a phone vs. using the screen is worth it to some. Plus you get geofence options. Only $45 a year, but if they aren't including HomeLink, I wish it was part of the premium services.
this is all included no charge in the product i am using. but i like to use the tiny remote clipped to my visor anyways. Or if you are technical you can have homeassistant do it for you too

Yeah I have MyQ at my vacation house and I got Sommers and an old Liftmaster at my main home. Luckily they are use Homelink and its nice to have the remotes built into my Fords. But I wanted something a bit better for access because I have a Control4 system. So I wired in some Shelly relays to them (and the My Q in my other home). The Shelly has a cool API that integrates well with Control4 and Homebridge (Apple Home back end). It also has a nice Apple Carplay app that I put the garage buttons on. I just wish Tesla leveraged Carplay. because now I have to pull up the phone to open the garage doors.
or you could just use a visor transmitter ;)

On a normal visor, maybe. On the cybertruck visor? no. It hinges in the middle, so any remote clipped to the visor would prevent full use of the visor.

Actual Homelink needs to be an option, full stop.

+1000!

This one totally escapes me on the CT. IMHO… that should have been a gimme on a 100k vehicle. A GDO is important for gates and garages. Now I gotta fumble for the iPhone when I pull up to the house.

Yeah I have zero access to connecting a network to my gate at work, much like many people who live in gated communities, apartment complexes, etc. Even at home, getting wifi to my garage, to add the convenience of waiting 10 seconds for the door to go up, would be a lot of effort. I'd have to add extenders on both sides of that wall of my house to reach the garage door motor with wifi.

We can split hairs about whether homelink should be standard in the foundation trucks, but at the very least it needs to be an option like in the 3/Y.

Classic remotes work great, the hinge isn't all the way across and an opener fits nicely on the side. I keep mine there as a backup because the MyQ implementation is a bit buggy... at least 1-2 times a week it'll just say "Error" and you can't use it for 5-10 minutes until it fixes itself.
