After discovering the microphone button on steering wheel is for grok and not for telling the truck your destination there still remains a few hurdles to overcome.
1. pushing the right scroll wheel either takes the CT out of FSD or autopilot or it puts the truck in auto pilot.
2. If you can get the navigate button to appear on the screen then you can select from a list of destinations that you have previously set in the list. The problem here is that you have to look at the list while driving. (its been said on this platform you have to be driving to get into FSD, if I remember correctly)
3. You can set the destination by using google maps on your mobile device. This has worked well but not every time. Sometimes it just doesn't show up on the list.
4. google maps does not always have an up arrow to communicate the address or destination to a selected user which includes Tesla.
5. sometimes there is a list of different locations for the same company like Home Depot. You will have to select which Home Depot you want. Now this will really get you dinged with a nag when trying to cycle through all the fifty home depots in the greater Houston area. very unsafe also.
6. sometimes the distination will appear on the screen but there is no where on the screen to select it. It must be just a website.
These are all problems I encountered in just one day running errands in town yesterday

I've had my CT for less that two weeks and Love, Love it. I'm just looking for solutions to the problems I've had communicating the destination to the CT.

Quick press it for nav/ voice commands
Long press for Grok

For pre-planning, you can use Location in the Tesla app to create the route and send it to the truck.

Wow, that list of issues will shrink to zero once you have learned a few tricks about how your new truck works!

1) Yes, the right scroll wheel on the steering wheel turns FSD on or off. I'm not sure why you list it as a problem.

2) The navigate button is always on my navigation screen. Presenting a list of recent destinations when pressing the navigation button is a nice feature. If you don't want to look at a list while driving, just hit the microphone button and say "Navigate to (address or the name of a destination). Easy-peasy.

3&4) The integration with Google Maps on your phone is a nice feature. I've never had an issue finding the "Share" button on Google Maps so I can send the route to my vehicle. I'm not sure what you're missing.

5) Well, yeah, if you tell it to navigate to Home Depot, and you live in an area with a lot of Home Depots, it can't read your mind, you have to select one. It orders in from closest to furthest. If you don't want to select from a list you can just press the microphone button and say "Navigate to the Home Depot on Xxxxx street" (or the full address if you know it). Or, if you just want the closest Home Depot, pick the one at the top of the list.

6) To tell it to navigate to a displayed destination, just push the icon that looks like an upside-down raindrop with a dot in the middle. It will immediately route you to that destination.

I hope this info helps you learn to operate your new Cybertruck more efficiently! The Tesla interface is very powerful and intuitive, but that's not to say there isn't a small learning curve associated with getting the most out of it!

Ha-ha! I didn't even know you could long press it for Grok! That's a new feature.

The more I explore uses for Grok, the more I'm blown away by how useful it is. Just remember, it's a new way of doing things and you have to use a little creative thinking to realize all the uses it has to make your trip better.

FSD "supervised" will not engage with your foot on the brake. If you are stopped and engage FSD, it won't start driving without a little encouragement on the throttle, and currently it will not reverse.

Very new!
😀
On my 2025 cybertruck there is a microphone button that brings up Grok. If you press it and say navigate to x destination she will say I can not tell the truck what to do and that you need to use your truck's voice command. After back and forth with the Grok lady she explains that the voice command is the right scroll wheel and it needs to be just a short press. Well..... that never worked for me and only resulted in going out of or into FSD or auto pilot.

thanks for the pointers, I'm sure too that it is a learning curve and Tesla will improve on it also .
1. The young lady on Grok said a short press on scroll wheel will bring up the the vehicle's voice command. But it never worked and always stopped or started FSD.
2 navigate button is often on the screen but my experience yesterday it was usually missing and I could not get it to display.
3. thats a good idea, thanks I'll try the app.
5. Actually it was Rudy's barbecue and I was thinking there was only one, but turned out there were many. Thats my fault, I'm just complaining about too much screen interaction required.
6. I did not ever see that upside down icon. I hope to see it.. I've had that situation many times in the model Y too.

It's a short press on the microphone icon, not on the scroll wheel. Long press on the microphone brings up Grok.

You can assign whatever apps you want in the launch bar at the bottom to the left of the "..." icon (the apps to the right are recently used apps). Just open the app menu with the "..." icon and drag the Navigation icon down there, it will stay wherever you put it as long as it's to the left of the "..." icon.

I do kinda hate the short press, long press thing. I wish it was configurable so you could bring up Grok on a different button.

You might have to turn Grok off if you want to use the mic button for navigation input. I would assume a long press would turn Grok off if it's already active. Then a short press to speak a navigation command (or any spoken command).

I was used to holding down the microphone button to initiate voice commands because if you failed to start your sentence with a known command, for example, starting a navigation command with 'navigate ....' it would stop listening. So I was constantly getting into Grok when it was added when I only wanted to use a command for the truck. I finally figured it out after asking Grok how to prevent it from taking over :). I love Grok on the Cybertruck. The answers are almost instantaneous, unlike my iPhone since X went to Grok 4 which can take agonizing minutes to return a simple response. You can ask Grok on the CT about any town you're driving through and you'll get an expert tour guide answer about its history, population, supercharging, things to see, restaurants, etc. It makes long road trips much more interesting.
