Thats TWO promos (or demand signals) in a short time. First the free FSD/Supercharging, now a referral discount unlocked. Maybe we'll see an actual price adjustment soon?
I count 3 pulls of the Cybertruck demand lever so far. And this is after a short 11 months of production:

-FSD/Supercharging offer
-Leasing option (most likely did zilch to increase CT demand)
-$2,000 “referral“ discount

Unfortunately the antics/politics of the CEO have caused thousands of buyers to reconsider purchasing a Tesla product. Hence the huge Q4 incentives.

Hmm. Does your source for this include any data indicating the percentage of prospective buyers that were actually more likely to purchase a Tesla for the same reason? Like the Heatmap Climate Poll? Or how market saturation may be skewing both these estimates?

At $77,990 demand lever #2 has been pulled. Apparently the leasing option, pull #1, didn’t increase Cybertruck orders.
That's not what it means. Even if it did increase orders, supply continues to increase. And every level that's reached will have an initial burst of pent-up demand, which then gets exhausted.

$2k is better than my day-one FSD reservation's $1k. But that's still one payment out of 60. Still 20% more than the median truck - which it was supposed to match the price of. So like, they need to do that five or ten times over to get the demand they want.

Switching from the Foundation to the standard models is also a demand pull. Adding financing is another. So is adding in inventory sales.

I have a reservation from 2019 and was planning on taking delivery before the end of the year. Does anyone know if the $2000 loyalty credit would be applied to this or would I be better off making a new order?

Sadly they will not apply it. It can’t hurt to ask on the Tesla app messaging, but they haven’t budged on this for the Cybertruck.

You will have greater savings with a new order.

Thanks for the quick reply, sounds like new order is the safest option. I don't see any benefit to going through the preorder anyway considering I am not purchasing FSD

In my case, I had an order that was on hold, I had paid my $1000 deposit. They won’t refund it, which I understand.

Even for me though it makes more sense to burn the $1000 deposit and place a new order and save $2000.

Yes, it does sound like the safest bet. If you would consider my referral link above with your new order, I would sincerely appreciate it, but no worries if you have someone else’s link already lined up! Thanks.

I verified through my app convo with Tesla. You’ll need to make a new reservation. You can just use referral link from above if needed.

His politics make me want to support him even more lol and several other I know who never would have considered buying an EV

Another demand lever pulled btw with the leasing buyout option.

My Predictions:
Next up: 2.99% promotional finance rate on Cybertruck
Followed by: $5k inventory discount on Foundation Series
