So it makes the AWD seem more “affordable”? Is that the idea here or is it just sleight of hand distraction from the loss of the tax credit without a corresponding price cut?
Or perhaps they are plannning to make up some of the cost of cutting the AWD price commensurate to some or all of the tax credit by selling the cyberbeast to loyalists and “top of the line” chasers for more.
Just trying to understand the purpose of the sales maneuver.
Correct.
The marketing term for this strategy is "price anchoring".

It involves presenting a high-priced option (the anchor) to make other options seem more reasonable or appealing by comparison. By setting a high reference point, the next lower-priced option appears more attractive, even if it's still relatively expensive, as it seems like a better deal in contrast to the anchor.

My FS came with free supercharging and premium connectivity for life. pretty sure FSD was part of the FS free options along with the shade, trunk divider, rubber mats, and storage tray, etc...

I think this luxe package is a better deal than the FSCB just from the Free Supercharging and maintenance. TBH, we still don’t have true FSD and no ASS. I guess it’s the risk of being a FSCB buyer in the beginning.

Look a the buyers of of the MY Launch and now the release of Model YL.

I do hope (wishful thinking) that Tesla just says “here ya go, free supercharging”. It’s not like they are a lot of FSCB in the wild. A drop in the bucket to them, financially.

Well, I went for the AWD version with free SC here recently when I traded in my first FS in.
Had an opportunity to go for a beast but AWD seemed like better value.
Perhaps that was a judgment error.

Exactly.

I also believe that vehicles around the $100k price point attract affluent buyers that are less price sensitive. They want what they want. The price is actually competitive with the Raptor R and Rivian Quad Motor.

I don’t know the exact number of FSCB are out there, but I’m sure it’s about 1/5 of all FS. Like you wishful thinking, but Tesla should really offer FSCB owners this Luxe Package as a free upgrade. Honestly, the four year premium service is something that most CT owner (not just FSCB) is worried about. It’s built like a tank. Unless you’re treating your CT like a battering ram. As for supercharging, I don’t know if there’s stat out there, but I feel like CT (both FS and nonFS) don’t use the supercharging network as often as the S, X, Y, or the 3 owners do. So in essence Tesla wouldn’t be losing a lot in terms of $$$. However, they would gain a ton of loyalty.

The people that got early foundation with no free supercharging this one hurts for sure
I like the word "free", but I'll probably spend less than $500/yr Supercharging (if that).

Getting 0% APR would have been much more valuable

But I regret nothing

$15k is worth it compared to the extra $20k for FS even without free supercharging.
To be worth it without Supercharging requires $10k in maintenance and tire/glass repair.

Both have FSD and premium connectivity.

OG FS CT Beast included:
$2.5k Lightbar
$3.5k Cyber Wheels
$2k white interior
$2.5k Powershare Hardware
$4k Powershare installation credit (up to)
$300 Mobile Connector
$295 All weather liners
Bottle opener/ Sun shades/ D rings
>$15k of stuff

For $5k more than Luxe which adds
$? Supercharging (removable if "excessive")
$? 4 years maintenance/ tire/ windshield protection

The 0% financing on the other hand...

Tires on the CT are more expensive.
Idk what tires S/X are coming with right now, but CT tires are cheaper than the P Zeros were on my M3P

Absolutely a good thing for resale price!
When Tesla drops the price of a particular model, there is a certain kind of Tesla owner whose brain short-circuits and they demand a refund for the vehicle they bought at the higher price.

Now that Tesla has raised the price, shouldn't everyone who bought recently at lower prices send a check for the difference in value to Tesla? 🤪
