It is a bummer that there’s no going back. Why not let us go back if we want?

If I upgrade, then I’ll always have a part (the OG horn) inside my truck that is inoperable, and is just taking up space. That’s weird to think about.

awesome, can't wait to get that! Kinda curious why it is permanent and not something that can just be changed whenever though...
To let it be changed back and forth would be one extra complication in the software and the interface, which has lots and lots of options and complications already.

Also, if there were two choices all the time, people would want more. And not every random sound someone might want would be regarded by regulators, as acceptable. I'm kind of surprised the fire engine horn sound is allowed.

I am going to assume that I have the new horn sound since I just got my CT last month. Mine sounds like a fire engine Claxton Horne. is that the new Sound?

Yes. The changeover took sometime after July.

No idea on how to fix, but some info from another thread:

This is initiated from a message in the app. Then launches a web page:

https://www.tesla.com/vehicle-update/upgrades?vin=XXXXXXX&optionCode=$CTH1&rn=RNXXXXXX

On my link, the rn number wasnt my reservation number... I tried modifying the URL but same error message :(
Checked my Tesla app for the Horn Update message, but didn't have the message in my inbox ?
Tesla Cybertruck New horn updated! 1000006611

Tried the web link but the page loaded unsuccessful...

Not sure what to do now ?

Tesla ads tons of mostly frivolous complications. Why balk at one that is reasonably practical, like for different drivers having serious preference differences?

After connecting to Wi-Fi should they try to install again?
Yes. If the CyberTruck is asleep and not connected I would surmise the software is not being downloaded to the vehicle.

A large number of adults taken together, resemble kids: whatever you offer, they’ll want just a little more.

No choice, or at most one choice that you can’t take back (and bedtime without supper if you don’t like it) avoids the argument.

The toybox is a separate category, a different situation from yet another option within an existing category. Think of an iPhone settings app, always a battle to keep the options from breeding like rabbits.
