New horn updated!

Here are some details on the superhorn. New cybertrucks are not equipped with a traditional vehicle horn and instead use the pedestrian warning speaker to produce a horn sound. This update disables the dedicated horn and uses the pedestrian speaker instead, like newer cybertrucks do.

Curious what the volume difference is in dB - has anyone compared?

Just updated mine and it works fine.

Also noticed that my custom downloaded Light Shows now are able to be picked in the list without having to reboot the screen. And stay there even after the CT goes to sleep. Not sure if this update fixed that Light Show issue to the last FW update.

Same. Does the RN number in the link/URL they sent you match your actual RN#? Mine doesnt match, kinda weird. Trying updating the URL but still fails...

Yep, they got this one preapproved. Their concern was that the superhorn would be too loud to hear the usual pedestrian warning noises since its the same speaker.

I wonder if this relies on the car computer for audio? Someone try holding down both scroll wheels to reboot and see if you loose the ability to honk.

It’s not as punchy as the original sound imo. Maybe because I’m older and I hear frequencies differently now? Idk.. I like this cybergoose sound though..

I am surprised that Tesla is not enabling the ability to go back and forth between the current and the new horn. Is it truly like a firmware update? I just don't get it.

NHTSA is very serious about you not being able to change a manufacturer sound.

I just clicked to upgrade, I was nervous because I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the new sound… it opened a webpage and said Update successful. I tapped the horn 5 seconds later and it was changed. Not like a firmware update.

I like the sound a lot. It sounds a lot better outside the car than the preview did. It’s pretty loud, if it’s just from a speaker, it’s a loud speaker. I’m happy. I do wish this was a foundation only update. Would make me feel more special!

Starting a dedicated thread to those who cant seem to install this update.
It appears many have gone through successfully but I am not the only one who is getting the "Update Failed, Please Try Again" error.
Hopefully we can figure it out as a group.
