The rumor was next generation of electric motors, new battery cells and close to 400 miles of range. Non of it panned out to be true.

It‘s a refresh, not the next generation of the Model Y.

Why did you want new cells?

Mainly more capacity cells for a little more range, maybe less cells for weight savings too.

But I suppose that is a lot of retooling current production methods for Model Y and design of the car itself.

Hoping for a 3.1s 0-60 on the performance model. Seeing as how the LR AWD with acceleration boost is a 4.1, that’s possible. It’d be crazy for a Model Y to match a base Model S off the line.

Can’t tell if the US model has a turn signal stalk. They kept it on the China model, but they might have some kind of law about such things over there.

Edit: can’t find any left side views to be sure, but it must have one because the steering wheel lacks indicator buttons.

Never can tell with Tesla. They’re all about eliminating unnecessary parts but I guess they didn’t want to scare people off with those mind boggling steering wheel buttons.
