We were driving around talking about what comes with the FS and my wife asked whether it comes with Tesla Tire Insurance. I got a new set of tires in January and paid the extra fee for the peace of mind for our winter cross country trip. Do new CTs (or other Teslas) come with 1-year tire insurance and, if not, has anyone purchased it? How much is it per tire?

If you have Discount Tire in your area, go purchase their Tire Certificate, fairly inexpensive given the cost to repair/replace the OEM all-terrain tires!
Certificates for my CT were $273 plus tax from Discount Tire in Florida.

If I wore out my treads, am I able to accidentally drive over a bunch of nails and then get my tire replaced? ?

My model y performance tires last maybe 20k miles on chill mode (which is really stretching it), but I’m told they’re only supposed to last 10-12k miles. These are performance tires, but curious how long these all terrain tires last on the cybertruck.

Since 2018. on various TESLA forums, I’ve been telling new owners to purchase the tire warranty from Discount Tire…for less than the cost of 1 tire, the insurance covers all 4 for the life of the tires. I’ve used the service 3 times on my M3P and twice on my Model Y.

I was talking about a new Cybertruck. I am assuming that you are talking about new replacement tires?

That is much better than the Tesla plan which is only good for 1 year, but doesn't it require that you are buying the tires from DT?

My MYLR stock tires went to 25,000+ and I am a conservative (but not 'chill') driver. That included daily driving, a trip to Yosemite, 2-3 trips from the Bay Area to LA, and one trip to Denver.

So you can get these certificates on a new Cybertruck's tires even though they were not purchased at Discount Tire?

Discount Tire offers there Tire Certificates for OEM tires (so you don’t need to purchase from them) on new vehicles as long as you purchase within a reasonable time of taking delivery.

Yes, correct, they will issue their Tire Certificates for OEM tires on vehicles delivered from manufacturer.

I went to their site and it was unclear whether you can buy these certificates for tires on a new car that they didn't sell/install.

Just give your local store a call, they should take care of you and confirm that they offer for existing tires on new vehicles!
