I know it is super early to talk about this but will the future Cybertruck battery pack yield more range, less weight or lower price?
From what I know, higher densitiy batteries usually cost a little more to manufacture.

Dual motor battery will definitely yield less range, probably from 330 to about 230 miles.

History suggests that they will go with LFP batteries which are heavier for the same power, but significantly cheaper. It ends up being a heavier truck with less battery (both decreasing range) but cheaper costs.

Battery technology will continue to improve. Higher energy density, ability to accept higher C-rates without harm, and greater longterm pack health are pretty much all givens.

And at some point the Lithium-chemistry technology that the entire EV industry turns upon today will give way to something better.

But there's a big difference between achieving battery improvement in the lab... and seeing that improvement realized in multiple production lines, in multiple facilities.

I personally don't expect to see meaningful pack improvement in time to be of benefit to the majority of folks on this site eagerly awaiting their Cybertruck and hoping that in return for the 12-24 month wait that that might entail, a better, cheaper, longer-range pack is part of the bargain.

The new battery tech has promised to deliver about 20% more range, which is significant, hopefully they utilize that battery tech soon and add more batteries to the truck overall .

Just a point of reference. The batteries in the original 2018 Model 3 are pretty close to the same ones in the 2023 version. They are indeed cheaper now, but chemistries are essentially the same.

New batteries technologies seem to occur daily. New production ready solutions about every 5 years.

They will sell the AWD with 230 miles? Same kWh pack? What?

No, smaller pack, different chemistry. Look at the Standard Range versions of the cars.
I interpreted your initial quote and the way it seemed to be written is they will stop making a AWD dual that will get 320-340+ miles. I disagree or questioned that. I mean if they make a standard (esp for fleet) sure, but I couldn’t imagine them dropping range 330-230 for all duals /awd.. that was my response ?
