Yeah I get it. It boils down to what makes you happy? If you love the truck and it’s something that would bring you joy and spend allot of time using and attention to it then it might be worth missing a trip a year to have it now. If it’s just a truck to you that isn’t really nothing but in the driveway and look out at it sometimes then yeah probably better to be able to spend your extra cash in other areas of your life. Unfortunately I don’t see any tax breaks coming true or major price flux coming anytime soon and it seems 10000 are doing the “I will wait to see” thing . Its the most I’ve ever spent on a vehicle and for a month It scared me going back and forth then when I ordered it , it really scared me and was having stress thinking “what am I doing?” Even when I picked it up I was like “do I really need this expensive of a truck But now all that went an away. I love it. Go test drive one.
Yeah, sounds like I'm going down the same concern path. Currently don't drive much, but that is because my wife (who works), and two teenagers seem to "need" our one car a lot. I have a 2001 F250, but at 16mph, its only used when I need to haul stuff like plywood or drywall. The Cybertruck will become "My" vehicle and let me start to do things independently, like go to the gym or pool - but any vehicle would allow for that. Wife and I do want to do some driving tours around the states eventually, and the Cybertruck should be great for that.

Did you factor in the cash you will get when selling the f250? I had the 2015 Chevy 2500 duramax. Love that truck. Couldn’t believe I got 38k for it. Wish I could have kept it but couldn’t justify it. I def don’t miss that $200 diesel stop every 4 days

The 2001 is going to my 16 yo son as soon as he shows competency driving a stick <smile>. Yeah, it will cost him a fortune in gas, but otherwise is free, so not a bad first car.

bump of FSD from $2,500 to $7,000 adds up to real money. I have a self directed IRA so can "afford" it, but at the cost of reducing future spending ability.
Again, FSD was never $2,500. You don't have to get it. You can subscribe for $100 for a month. Maybe use it intermittently.

I'm in the same boat and it sounds like waiting for the "2025" version might appease my concerns with current issues. Also hoping for the homelink kit and perhaps siruis xm antenna added.

Hi all -

Like many, received my Non-Foundation Series order letter in the past few days. I placed my order back on 2/4/2020 - so over 4.5 years ago (RN11324****). I was a bit surprised to receive this e-mail - I wasn't expecting it (based on reservation number and this forum), until late next spring.

Logged into the website and disabled the $5500 fuel cost savings, and enabled the $7500 tax rebate. I'm presuming that since they allowed that, its real?

Most things were pretty much as expected, except the FSD option, when I ordered, was "locked in" at $2500. Now its $1000 off the current price? That was a significant discrepancy.

Financing price was reasonable at 5.29% for 72 months - Chase pre-approved me at 5.25%. Called my State Farm agent and he quoted me $657/6-months, which seem cheap enough.

Cash at time of order was a bit over $1000 - fine.

Now its time to decide and I have a few reservations:

1) Is the $7500 tax credit (live in Missouri, USA) real? Reads like that is for Commercial Clean Credit companies only?
2) Is the $1000 off for FSD reality or will there be some later adjustments for early reservation holders father down the ordering process?
3) Given that the 1,000,000 queue seems to have evaporated, and that the $1000 FSD is my "only" advantage (shy ordering priority) for being an early reservation holder:
3a) Interest rates are expected to drop within the next couple of months (election results might change that)
3b) If the queue is empty, will Tesla being offering deals soon (price break due to better battery yields, lower financing (worth thousands), more competitive pricing vs Ford and others?)
4) Presumably the 2025 models will be out soon?

Basically I was all for this truck when it was $59,990 + $2500 ($62500) + misc. fees - potential electric vehicle rebates. I know, almost 5 years has past, but at an average of 5% annual inflation (had to pick a number), that should be more like $76000 than $79,990 + $7000 ($87000).

Either way, this truck is going to cost more than my first house (I'm old).

Thoughts, comments, and clarifications all welcome!
I think alot of orders were from people who were hoping that they would come into some money to be able to afford one. Reality hit them when they got the notice from Tesla. My first house in 1973 was 17k. So what. If you can afford it then buy it. If not then move on.

Thats... interesting. Lots of "little" things to consider. Heard the Internet connectivity is $10/month (with Foundation series folks getting it for "free")?

Tried coaxing Google into confirming my $2500 and failed. Memory isn't what it use to be but I would have swore that in February, 2020, the website offered it at $2500 with a note that the list price was likely going to be $5000 or more. Its that note in my brain that is freaking me out.

Anyhow, is there is a place that list all the options, like FSD for $100/month? I didn't see those when I went through the customization pages.

You may be thinking of the upgrade price from EAP.

I recall seeing sirius might be added as an app. Doubtful they will add an antennae since not everyone will subscribe and its an extra part that can be solved with software.

Yeah they did according to the Tesla service center. The whole point of satellite radio is so that it works even in rural area without cell coverage - for me at least.

Since this is such a big decision for me, I'm thinking about it for a month and set myself a November 24th deadline.

Pro's: Can afford it (barely). Would be proud to own one. Likely one of the first electrics in this rural area I live in - so might help educate the local population. Be nice for touring the USA at some point (especially the self driving when burning through a few hundred miles of highway).

Con's: Going to hit the budget pretty hard. Some other optional activities will likely be cut back. Overkill for my daily needs, maybe handy monthly. Nearest Tesla service is in St. Louis or Kansas City, both about 200 miles away.

When looking at electric competition I find myself thinking "Nice - but its not a CT". Other choices may well suffice, but don't think I'd have a feeling of pride.
