yes deterrent for those scared of their shadow. I’m not one of them. But you do you.
I mean, we’re not talking about me here. After all, I do this for a living and can deal with my own stuff “for free”

But to your point, a reason I dislike this approach is because it will do more to stop honest people than it will motivated scalpers

Like how locks on doors keep only honest people out

It says a lot about you when you imply scalpers are not honest people.

you’re speaking out of turn, and absent context

I’ve been vocal around here in my dislike for this provision, in that it does more to deter ‘real’ buyers who later choose to do what they want with their property, than it deter will true scalpers - people who only ordered and purchase for the reason of flipping for a profit

If speaking in short hand, and using analogies, leaves you butthurt, it says more about you than me

But if you really want to discuss whether people buying with the intent of flipping are “honest” - in this instance, the pre-order agreements have from moment one said:

No Resellers; Discon?nua?on; Cancella?on. Tesla and its affiliates sell cars directly to end-consumers, and we may unilaterally cancel any order that we believe has been made with a view toward resale of the Vehicle or that has otherwise been made in bad faith. We may also cancel your pre-order and refund your Pre-Order Payment if we discon?nue a product, feature or op?on a?er the ?me you place your pre-order or if we determine that you are ac?ng in bad faith.”

So, if you think someone buying with intent to resell is “honest” behavior, it’s less a problem with my analogy, and more a problem with your grasp of English

context was absent in your post that I replied to. Your adding it after the fact simply reinforces that my point was correct.

As for your view of “scalping”, unless a customer has a resale business & a history of reselling vehicles, it would be a very tough hill to climb to prove intent when the customer bought the vehicle for themselves and then sold it 12 months later. According to you that would be dishonest but that assumes the buyer’s intent at the time of purchase. Good luck winning that argument.

Conclusions 100% based on what you yourself wrote…calling them “bad” demonstrates incapability of supporting your own views…..

Exported to a different country? Or can I go to Los Angeles for delivery but register the vehicle in another state?

ok

here in crayon:

i didn’t give more context, because people I cared to talk to here already have all the context they can stomach

But then you @ me, being insulting and suggesting I was somehow scared of my shadow

and noticeably uninterested in asking questions or having discussion, much less in asking what context might be relevant

You’re behaving like a troll. I’m responding only so that the *other* uninitiated, reading your comments, aren’t left confused by your troll behavior

not because anyone is paying attention to you otherwise

Your resorting to name calling and making up nonsense simply reveals your desperation to make your original point valid. It is not.

Objectively, I have multiple responses to my posts so your assumption that no one is paying attention is verifiably wrong.

par for the course with you it seems….and now I know….dismissed!

ok cool, let’s go back to your point

that true scalpers are not dishonest, where the purchase and sale of a Cybertruck is concerned

in a glaring omission, you‘be never explained this exclamation

I did, in my view - recounted a second time below

meanwhile, I’ll remind that it’s *you* who @ me with the name-calling

maybe you’re just having a bad day. Or maybe you’ve seen your error and are to embarrassed to just let it go.

or, you’re a true scalper, who has deluded themselves into thinking there’s nothing dishonest in their mastermind plan to … wait for it … “get around” and ignore Tesla’s plain prohibition on true scalpers, as though the difference between you and others is that you’re just smart enough to see how to get around it

you failed to address my point about intent. Until you do, there’s nothing more you can contribute.

Your unsubstantiated fantasies don’t qualify as a proper response. ..
really, I don’t understand your point, or your beef

It says a lot about you when you imply scalpers are not honest people.

people who pre-ordered the cybertruck with the express intent to flip it for profit, are not honest people with respect to the terms of the Tesla pre-order agreement.

That you take that personally, is at this point clear

It’s cool man, doesn’t make you a wholly bad person.

just that you thought you could pull down some (possibly sorely needed) cash, by signing a contract that said you can’t resell, even though you intended to resell.

I personally don’t really care that people want to scalp trucks.

I instead care more about Tesla trying to stop scalpers in a way that I think does more harm to people who aren’t scalpers than it does to stop scalpers

There has been no disagreement on that point in our posts.

your failure to catch that distinction is telling….

To put it in crayon:

Your original post did not qualify which scalpers—it was scalpers in general.
You only defined it after I pointed out your oversight.

As to my original point….you have still failed to demonstrate what would trigger tesla to investigate a sale that occurs 12 months after original purchase.
