Great to hear! This weekend, I am going to detail the truck, I’ll let everyone know how that goes. It’s been very interesting to try to get it clean. Are you in Charlotte? I’ll get it wrapped eventually and would be good to use someone who has a couple of these under their belt.

I get an invoice reminder from Car Charging Pros but nothing scheduled yet.
Yea I’m in charlotte. David at PPC is ocd about wrap details. Great communication.

Anyone tint yet through sunstoppers? I got a quote for $1200 for xpel xr plus for windshield, sunroof, both front and rear door windows. Was wondering if anyone got a different quote

Truck is doing well, still debating whether to wrap or not. I’ve now seen several others on the road while I was driving around town. I feel like we need a nod to one another but not a Jeep Wave. One CT I saw had really dark tent and I’m thinking I may get a quote from sun stoppers as well for just the front and rear windows. I’m still waiting on my $700 voucher so I can purchase the universal wall charger and get that installed. It’s so fun to drive, I don’t know how much I would use FSD when it does come out but summon would be nice.

Could you please share the products you used to clean interior/exterior? I’m planning to detail my truck this week. TIA.

First, I washed with Dawn detergent. That is a one time thing when you first get the vehicle. It will strip whatever is on the vehicle so don’t use that once you’ve coated it with ceramic.

Second, was Iron Remover. I used Chemical Guys. That will get rid of most of the rust caused by rail dust, etc.

Last cleaning step was Bar Keepers Friend. Be sure to rinse quickly. There might be some risk of slight etching? That should get all the remaining stains. You might have to stay on certain spots a while. I did not scrub hard to make sure I didn’t cause any scratches/etching.

I also used DIY panel prep before applying the ceramic coating, but tbh, I think denatured alcohol would do just as well. The problem with this step is that the panel prep and/or alcohol tends to spread the contaminants around because they dry/flash so quickly. You’re supposed to be able to wipe it up before it dries, but I could not manage to do that. For this step, I was more polishing the surface than scrubbing. The way the panel looks after this step is how it will look after you apply the ceramic coating so stay with it/repeat the panel until it looks the way you want it to.

I bought some CitriSurf 77 and will try that out versus the panel prep. It is recommended by Tesla. CitriSurf 77 NOT CitriSurf 77 Plus.

The final step is DIY Detail 5 Year Ceramic coating. It will darken your panel, slightly, but it is very easy to apply and level. This is easiest and fastest step. The beading and results are great so far.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Powerwall install Monday AM! It forced me to spend the weekend cleaning the garage for sufficient access to the panel. What a PITA.

Aerospace 303 Protectant on everything not leather. For the leather, I use the BMW leather cleaner and protectant because I like the way it smells. Just make sure whatever you use for the leather is reputable. Not sure there is a big difference between the leather options.

11309 finally got email and ordered an AWD. It says July-September.

Giggity.
I'm in NC 11311xxx got my email yesterday! 12/4/19 reservation. Unfortunately I must wait for non foundation. I already have most foundation perks (wall "charger", portable, can't use vehicle to house gear , etc,) plus I just leased an X in Feb with an estimate that my truck would be a mid 2025 delivery. I'll order when the standard awd is offered. The X is great so I am in no rush.
