North Carolina VIN Assigned (1991): Delivery scheduled

For those still following this. I just found out my truck is estimated to be ready mid-end of April. My original estimate was for Jan-March and I ordered it as soon as I got the email. Not sure what this means for other Charlotte deliveries. I hope others have more luck than me (I also selfishly don’t! )

For those checking the app everyday, you might be able to take a few days off since it sounds like a month behind. They said it’s subject to change, but probably only longer if so.

On Tuesday the 27th of February I will hit the 60 Day mark since I placed my order. I’m in Charlotte and was excited when the first one got delivered. Not much movement or noise since. The other 2 CTs there are a mystery and I haven’t seen or heard of any more making their way to Charlotte. I was hopeful of maybe getting a VIN next week since March is here but seems unlikely. April seems like the realistic time now. I have been waiting since 2019, so in the long run, what is a couple more months?!?!?

says who? If it was your local delivery center, they know nothing until a VIN is assigned to your account.

I was also told my 12/20 was going to most likely be end of March. He said "They will most likely get it marked as delivered before the end of the first quarter so sales look strong". Basically, Elon needed the cash and it was all a money grab....if I was still getting it, I would do the same thing with my first payment, "Sorry that due date was an estimate right?"

When did you order? Who told you this?

Places order 12/19 for AWD (but shows as 12/20 on my account). Came from a Tesla salesperson that was able to “look at my order.” - not sure exactly what that means, but he seemed pretty confident. He didn’t seem to be guessing but reading it from “the system”

I’m waiting patiently. 65 days since order and no Vin. Hoping for this month. Changed to no trade in after low offer and trying to time sale of current car. Does Tesla financing vs cash seem to make a difference in delivery time or is North Carolina just a slow roll on Vin assignments.

I think it's more a matter of location and, it seems, popularity that determines who is getting their vehicles delivered. The time between order and VIN assignment is all of the place for folks.

There’s definitely some luck involved right now away from the main delivery states. I hope they start flowing reliably to NC soon so everyone can experience the glory. I love this truck! And I’m no influencer or anything, just pressed the button ASAP back when preordering.

You’re not a VIP of sorts, right? In a different thread, its being assumed that the CTs delivered in NC were to VIPs given that only a couple were delivered so far..

No, not a VIP and never worked for Tesla. I don’t really do social media (except for a little X recently) and have only been an in-person influencer (AKA a Tesla enthusiast). I can go on for hours talking about the benefits and shortcomings of Tesla, so people have said at various times “you should work for Tesla” but I enjoy working from home too much.

I pre-ordered as soon as the page went live in 2019 (before the presentation even started) and have owned various Teslas since 2018. I do own under 1,000 shares of stock as well.

I ordered my Foundation Series on 16 December by going directly to my account on the web — hadn’t received the email invite at that point even.

I spoke with one of the managers at the Matthews SC and she said she’s not seeing any CTs on deck to be delivered in Charlotte in the immediate future..

Well bummer .

They did say there’s a new showroom and/or service center being built in Northlake if I recall… maybe they’re waiting for more space and service capability before sending more? It’s a shame, though. Mine is so good. This thing is an iconic vehicle on so many levels. It’s an honor to own the first in the state.

That said, it seems like the East coast is definitely lagging behind.. looking at some of the western states and the number of CTs they’re getting delivered
