Now that an RC has been built *and* seen from the front, it seempretty well settled that any overhead offroad lightbar does not come standard.

Combined with the various other photos and videos we’ve seen, the existing overhead trim set and it’s sliding visors, etc. - it simply doesn’t leave room, for an in-cab lightbar and the associated features it would need to work (eg a shielding boot that attaches toy he

If it doesn’t come standard, we wonder about the accessory team.

Personally, I find it unlikely there’s be an “accessory” requiring seeming replacement of the entire OEM trim set overhead the driver, new visors, etc.

Leaves me wondering where an accessory offroad lightbar *could* go

ROOFMOUNT

Maybe an OEM roof mount accessory, but the appearance and range consequences TBD

UPPER BUMPER

Leaves me instead looking to the location of the existing headlights, in the gap between hood and bumper, which would have minimal/no range effect

notice the headlights themselves appear to be a single string of diode/reflectors, but the area of trim appears to have room for a double stack

would seem to leave room for that center trim piece to accommodate the equivalent of at least …. 10? 12? …. additional headlight-sized lights (which offroad LEDs of course could be brighter LEDs than the headlight)

SIDE MIRROR REPLACEMENTS

If the side mirrors are removable and have power, one could imagine OEM accessory replacements that incorporate the same sort of LED strings seen in the headlights, with minimal/no range effect

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT

I suppose it’s possible, but seems unlikely, there could be a replacement of the DRL bar?

Elon told us (you can find the reference) that the headlights and the upper ‘light bar’ would be laser lights and someone posted on this forum an article on laser lights and how they work. As a result, and since they are much more powerful than LEDs, you might need fewer of them? Do you not recall all of that?

why don’t the moderators have a pinned page for patents and video links for things that come up over and over again?

https://electrek.co/2020/02/21/tesla-cybertruck-standard-laser-blade-ligths-elon-musk/

unreliable source (and Ii could not locate a good reference to xsilence laser lights):

often wondered why this company’s forums don’t appear to have stickies

If you’re saying that they could fit a lot of these “lasers” in places - eg wouldn’t need 10X of them between headlights, seems cool

if instead you’re referring to them being in interior visor area, I personally still just don’t see it for a lot of overlapping reasons

I think you’re referring to stories from circa Feb 2020

I know and respect that you’re in the camp of “once uttered by Elon it’s cannon until explicitly retracted by Elon” - so once he tweets a lightbar will be included there’s no reasonable skepticism

I’m less of a biblical literalist in this respect

Maybe someone will make an aftermarket Offroad Light Bar to mount externally something like this:

Tesla Cybertruck OEM Offroad Light Bar Accessory External Lightbar 02
Tesla Cybertruck OEM Offroad Light Bar Accessory External Lightbar 01

Real crude and quick but it gives an idea.

In my mind, exactly the sort of external I would think fitting of the CT - awesome work!
