I'm taking delivery soon and on the paper work it shows my $250 order fee as an added fee to the MSRP like a destination fee. It is not a deposit to reduce the MSRP at delivery like the $100 reservation fee.

If someone took delivery of their truck already, and paid $1,000, is that added to the total of the truck? I wonder why they have a $250 order fee and a $1000 order fee. Why some pay $250 and others pay $1,000. Seems like junk fees dealer would add at a stealership.

It was in plain sight the whole time. It's a fee and not called a deposit. Just wonder why there are different fees.

Yep. My delivery took 2 hours longer than is should have because of that “fee”. I refused to pay it because I brought bank checks for the financed amount and the down payment amount. They then tried to tell me I was $250 short. No sir…I gave you what you said I owed. They finally made me a deal where I paid the fee and they gave me a voucher for $350 to use at the Tesla store and a goody bag with a couple of water bottles and a Tesla speaker. I’m waiting for the underseat storage to come back in stock lol.

Your right, I missed that, I saw them give me credit after the purchase price, but I missed that they added it to the purchase price and increased the price, I always assumed it was a prepayment. Good catch, I paid it already! Yes very much feels like a scam, you would think the $20,000 foundation series 'order fee' was enough!

Ok, wow... Yeah I totally was too excited and missed that small scale robbery. What the hell is an order fee? And yeah, it's explicitly shown on the order agreement even from the email after the original order. I checked, and my previous Teslas were ordered the same way and never had an "order fee", they called it and "order payment" and credited it against the purchase price! Wtf?

Do they really need to squeeze another $250 out of us Ticketmaster style?!?

It looks like the $1,000 is applied to the purchase price... see previous threads pic

On my (current) price breakdown, I show a $250 order fee, then -$100 for my reservation fee, and -$1000 for my order deposit.

Did anyone actually pay 250 for a reservation this early in the RNs? I didn't think that happened until later.

Yep, I hadn't noticed this either but mine is exactly the same. I will push for the credit as the OP did. I'm sure by the time I finally get my VIN they won't allow as more become aware that they hid this.

I see what’s happening. For the first bunch of foundation invites they asked you to pay a $250 order fee to lock in the order (at the time we all thought this was a deposit against final purchase price), then I had thought they had wanted $1k deposit….which is correct and is placed against the purchase price, but the $250 order fee is still part of that purchase price! So basically i think nearly everyone paid this, other then a few diligent and principled people like @Celiboy (well done for that, ? ?) …

i hope more people fight that $250….

Exactly! Thanks. They caught us completely off guard especially since they list it under “credits”. It was a test of wills and we weren’t budging. I think that’s why they offered the deal they did.

Is this 250 the current "fee" on top of the original 100 we paid back in 2019? If so, we are getting charged twice? Wtf is that. Will bring this up..

Yeah it’s considered a fee but it’s listed under the credits section of the final purchase agreement and separately from the financed and down payment amounts due.

Got it, so at time of purchase we should pay total amount owed -250 and should stick with it?
