I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by this. My MY is GUARANTEED to ruin its clean within an hour of pulling out of the car wash. I DO appreciate FSD needs to be able to clean the windshield, but if I turn off the auto wipers, I wish it'd just tell me it thinks I need to clear the windshield. As it stands, it seems to be trying to wash away the glass itself. Very annoying.
Exactly. I get really tired of living with a streaked up windshield. My M3 doesn't do it at all, only by CT.

I get "phantom wipes" about once every never. Like, less than 0.1% of all wipes. Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe I did a good job cleaning the lenses and glass, or some combination thereof.

(Side note to my photography enthusiasts: anyone shooting a SLR knows the impact of a few grains of dust on the lens and/or sensor, particularly at high apertures. I'm guessing that people with persistent phantom wipes have a speck of dust trapped somewhere, or even a dead pixel on the sensor. You would think that the software would calibrate the static image to ignore such imperfections, rather then trying to scrub a dead pixel with the wiper blade lol.)

When the wiper gets "irrationally exuberant" in the rain, I'll press-and-hold the wiper button to get a washing pass; that will usually reset the program for a bit. If it persists in light rain, I'll tap the wiper button and swipe the left scroll-wheel downward to set the wipers to off, or to my desired speed.

My RainX is a few months old and is starting to lose hydrophobicity, so I bought the well-reviewed Glaco sealant. I'll apply it when it stops raining lol, probably this weekend.

LOL, I told my wife that a dirty windshield was going to be the thing that defines Cybertruck ownership. Drives her up the wall, she is the kind of woman who cleans the windshield on the boat if it gets splashed.

My wiper has always frequently dry-wiped during a drive and still does. It seems to wipe more on dry, sunny days than when it's raining, and it often stays down!

I'm VERY curious about the "Glaco" sealant Gus. I'm going to look into it but please keep us posted on how it performs for you.
Also, I bought the tools that you mentioned for removing the camera housing for cleaning but still afraid that I'm going to break the clips like so many others have. If I was sure that it would solve my problem, I'd chance it. However, the results seem to be hit or miss depending who you ask.

😲 I didn't know know you could make a selection with the left scroll wheel. Thank you!
There are multiple settings adjusted by the left scroll wheel, which defaults to speaker volume. However, this means that if a control pops up on-screen, you can't adjust the volume until it recedes.
