Phantom Wipers

I was at the service center in Austin, Texas a week or two back to try to get this fixed. I confirmed that it’s a software bug and that eventually an over the air update will probably fix it.
This is not just a cybertruck thing, this is a Tesla thing. My model S, and my two model Y’s did the same thing.

In the big scheme of things, though, this is the least of my Cybertruck worries. What’s comical is the fix is always coming in the “next software update”.

Too funny.

Wipers will activate for no apparent reason, sunny day, windshield clean, etc. Wiper will swipe down and sit at bottom fo a period of time, then return to park position. I first blew this activity as clearing dust from camera area but it happens even after washing/cleaning CT. I have had CT since September 24 and have not given this much thought but it seems to be happening more often (2-3 times on a 15 mile work commute). Up to this point I would voice command “wiper off“, wiper would park and screen says wiper control is in Off position (Not auto position). But, it will once again activate at some period of time. If no else is experiencing, I guess I will open a service ticket?
That’s what I got each time I start driving and we have a sunny every single days in California desert. Started only with the latest upgrade ( v13.2.8 )

engaging FSD turns auto-wipers back on. Its annoying. What I do is as soon as I turn on FSD, I use voice commands to turn auto-wipers off.
This is the way

It sounds like your Cybertruck’s wiper behavior could be a glitch or sensor calibration issue. Even though you’ve kept your windshield clean, if the system is triggering the wipers multiple times during your commute, it might be misinterpreting environmental data.

Since you’re already seeing the wipers activate despite setting them to "off" via voice command and the display confirms the off position, it could be a software bug or sensor anomaly. I’d recommend checking if there’s a recent OTA update available that might address this behavior. If not, opening a service ticket would be a good step so Tesla can diagnose and potentially recalibrate the sensors.

Are other Cybertruck owners reporting similar issues? If not, your case might be isolated. A service appointment will help determine if it’s a software fix or a hardware calibration issue.

I finally cleaned the windshield behind the front camera cover as I was getting the notification and a pic of the dirty windshield from the outgassing of the plastic. I have not driven very far since I cleaned it but i have not gotten a phantom wipe yet...Not saying THAT was the problem but hey, I can hope right?

Yes, others are experiencing the same issue
