What an emotional roller coaster Tesla has put some of us on. TLDR; version being - ordered nonfoundation and went through not one, not two but three “confident” delivery dates along with scheduling a delivery which allegedly is only available a day prior to arrive at the showroom at best.. well mine hasn’t (and still hasn’t) even left Austin.

After that last disappointment I turned to the used market. I would have never imagined I’d land a Cyberbeast for $99k with virtually zero miles on the ticker but yet thats exactly what I got after a kind and quick negotiation with the dealer. In about 3 hours I went from no Cybertruck to booking a one way flight to Denver.

This Cyberbeast came with the cyberbins in the bed and all standard accessories. I’m going to reach out to Tesla on the light bar and wheel covers.

FSD was a game changer and the only reason I made it home in one sitting. I never used FSD longer than to bring me to the airport in the past (27 min drive) so essentially using it for 90%+ of my 16hour drive was super impressive.

I waited 16 hours to launch it and it was well-worth the wait. Not as violent as Plaid but definitely throws you back. It doesn’t really “feel” like sub-3 second 0-60 but it’s gotta be largely due to its size.

The Tesla navigation is way too conservative on long trips and flat out provided terrible route guidance. Not sure if they want you to get to your next destination with 20+% SOS but that’s *not* how I want to spend an EV road trip.

There’s nothing I can say negative about the truck itself other than the crazy amount of finger prints it already has.

Can you get the PowerShare credit transferred to you? That would be nice.

It wouldn’t hurt to ask. I may as well, thank you for bringing it up!

Congratulations! Good luck on getting Tesla to give you anything if you are not the first owner.
For the good of the group and at least for detail - I’m getting the light bar per Tesla for sure. Hilariously don’t know about the wheel covers yet.

Wow, what a let down from the delivery team - glad you got it though! - seems they’re still working out logistics, I was surprised even in SoCal there is a general confusion in the air at the service and delivery area ?

I’m surprised FSD was active. Tesla usually turns it off if a vehicle is resold by a non-Tesla dealer. Or did the dealer never title the vehicle?
I have not heard of Tesla doing that. When I’ve researched on Cargurus various Tesla models, my wife was interested in a Model X for a while and they’d show them active with FSD.

That being said, and it’s a story for another time.. but no the dealer never even transferred ownership of the truck into their name. I had to go through Tesla via phone and their customer service to get ownership transferred to me when I started making my trek home. It was a little dicey, it said they had 5 days to review but they did it in less than an hour as I was able to provide all purchase docs from the dealer directly to Tesla.

FSD typically get removed by Tesla after the vehicle is retitled if the vehicle has been sold by a dealer other than Tesla or through a car auction. This does not apply for private sales. The tricky thing is it can happen at any time post-sale and there is no recourse - except perhaps with the non-Tesla dealer who claimed the vehicle was being sold with FSD. To get around this many dealers will say the vehicle is 'FSD capable' or 'FSD eligible' per the infotainment but make no claims or guarantees that if FSD is active at the time of sale that it will remain active post-sale. Tesla does periodic audits of vehicles that transacted through third-party dealers and removes FSD.

Just trying to figure this out.

You bought a low mileage "used" Foundation Series Beast from the Tesla dealership for 99k?

Would be p funny to have a non-FSD FS. But yea I’m not sure Tesla would ever be able to know it was owned by a dealer based on what happened.
