Great write up. I’ve been reading up on best cleaning method and this YT video from out-of-spec looks to be the best solution (today), windex w/ammonia and bar keeper liquid. Let me know your thoughts and any other solutions (lol).

Very interesting! With all the rain here in the bay area I'm not thinking about washing right now but the Tesla guy told me ph neutral soap and soft water.

Getting mine soon and surprised to hear there was “no” Auto Pilot at even a basic level!?

That's quite disheartening. When I acquired my Model 3 in early 2018, it had at least basic autopilot functionality.

I really don't know but how much is the 6 month/ 1 year free supercharging really worth in $$$?
It really depends on where you’d do most of your charging and your proximity to a supercharger. If you’re not planning any long trips in that 6 month timeframe it won’t amount to much. Electricity is cheaper than gas. We’ve made it to the Bay Area from central California and back and in two stops spent less than $30 total (1 stop was for the restroom and snack break. Charged because we could). The Superchargers will also tell you when the rates are cheaper. So again it really depends on your use. If I was given 6 months free, all my charging would be supercharging because I have one about 10 minutes away.

Are you able to fit your truck and M3 in your garage or do you park outside?
Right now I only have space for the 3 but I used to have a GT-R and I had that in there with my 3. So I think both would fit but my wife doesn't like to park in the garage and I'm selling my 3 so as long as the CT fits I'm good. Should know this weekend.

Ok cool. We have a M3 and MY now and getting my wife a MX later this year. We’re trading in the M3 towards my truck so I’m hoping the MY and truck will fit. My wife prefers to park in the garage lol. Congrats and thanks for responding. Hopefully I’ll get my VIN soon.

The range seems pretty good. From the trips looking like full 100 % battery will give close to 313 miles as well.

I figured that much that it would be utilization dependent. Until someone posted what the actual estimated cost was for the equipment, there was no backdrop to the comparison. As always, apple to apples is how it makes sense to me. Thanks for the awesome response.

I really don't know but how much is the 6 month/ 1 year free supercharging really worth in $$$?
The value of free Supercharging will vary widely from person to person and also based on the consumption of the specific vehicle. I have free Supercharging for life on my Model 3 Performance and it's saved me about $300-$400 over the last 6 years (about $50-$70/year). This will vary widely based upon how far beyond your natural home range you travel, how often you are on the road, and how much electricity your EV needs to travel that distance.

But I haven't taken my Model 3 further than about 900 miles (one way) from home and often have free destination charging where I stay during the trip. That means I really don't need a whole lot of Supercharging, even on multi-day trips because I'm waking up to a "full tank" each morning. Sometimes just one or two quick 10-minute charges each travel day is all that's necessary.

However, the Model 3 is significantly more efficient than the Cybertruck at highway speeds so you can multiply the value of free Model 3 Supercharging by about 1.7X at typical highway speeds because the Cybertruck will drink a lot more electrons. 1.7X is my esitimation of how much more energy a Cybertruck will consume at 70 mph vs. a Model 3. That's why I say the Cybertruck is not an ideal EV for long distance Interstate travel unless an EV with less cargo capacity won't suit your requirements. Not only will energy costs be higher, but your charge stops might be long enough to cause you to have to start waiting for the charging to finish, rather than the EV waiting for you to be ready to hit the road again.

Basically, I find the charging of the car to be a little faster than me for most rest stops, the Cybertruck would reverse that equation for me and, I think I would find those extra minutes a very real net negative for me. 5 minutes is not a long time unless you are anxious to hit the road (and then it seems like a really long time). With the Model 3 it's a very rare situation that I'm actually waiting for the car to fill.

The bottom line is that unless you are a real long-distance road warrior, covering big miles or towing big loads, the additional value of free Supercharging is not much.

Went to Home Depot yesterday to get some 10 foot 1 1/2" pipes. I was able to close the vault door close to them to hold them in place. But I noticed when it automatically gets too close it touches them then goes back up automatically.
