Model X is probably the best comparison we have right now. I think the largest standard tires are 22ā€. Model X weights about 5300 lbs and the Cybertruck is 6600 lbs and running on 35ā€ tires. I think we are underestimating how efficient it really is for a truck. Need additional datapoints as we head into Feb with more deliveries to back up my assumption, so we shall see.

what year and what’s your range? You’re doing a lot better than I am!
2023, RWD 272. Range still shows 267 at 100% 10k miles… not a performance.. but in summer I am in the 220-225 Wh/m consistently

Average speed is very misleading if you go through any stoplights or have even a few miles of slow cruising thrown into a freeway trip. It takes very little to bring the average speed way down. This means the efficiency number would be much higher if they really drove 37.5 mph the entire way.

My 2018 M3P with about 72,000 miles has lost about 10% battery capacity, with an initial range of 308, now down to 275, based on data from TeslaFi. I'm usually running 300 to 325 Wh/Mi on average. I can go about 225 to 250 miles with a 90% charge and reasonable temperature.

So 9.5% less Wh/mi (30/316). It would be interesting to see if these Cybertruck numbers go up by 9% also…
The relative efficiency of the Model 3 in cold weather should be higher than the Cybertruck since most range loss in the cold is due to the air being more dense and the cabin heater having to work harder. There is also the fact that winter weather brings more snow, slush and rain.

With the Cybertruck being bigger and less aerodynamic than the Model 3, and having a bigger cabin to heat, I would expect a much larger improvement in efficiency with the Cybertruck as the weather warms, relative to a Model 3.

In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say that people who believe the results we've seen so far are representative of what someone who cares about maximizing range will actually get, will be shocked at the good results posted by many come Spring.

Agree. I posted this on the other range thread that seemed to have died out.

70 mph(out of spec test)
42 deg
490 wh/mi
250 miles

75 mph (guess)
42 deg
520 wh/mi
236 miles

80 - 85 mph. (latest What’s inside family youtube)
42 deg
590 wh/mi
207 miles

It looks like ~380 wh/mi is needed to hit the target EPA range of 320 miles. Maybe in 70 degree weather going about 70?
If I'm not mistaken, that's pretty much in line with all Teslas. You drop 10% range for every 5 mph over about 60 mph.

Want the EPA range, drop to 60 mph. Let's see 70->80 added 100 wh/mi. 70->60 should drop 100 wh/mi and put you at about 390 wh/mi, pretty dang close to your thoughts of EPA range is.

I agree lets take the emotion out ofbit and use math. A positive range test > EPA*. A negative range test < EPA*. What does it take to beat the EPA* range estimate? Has anyone done better than -13%?
60 mph, which is 5 mph higher than the speed limit on most American roads. (not Interstates) That's where you'll find the EPA numbers, just like every other Tesla.

Thatā€˜s exactly the issue I want real world tests, anyone driving 65 on our highways is by far the slowest on the road, probably a safety issue unless they ride the right lane the whole way. I’m going 75-80 all day long and I’m not willing to change that to increase range.

Also I drove a Plaid X in chill mode it felt like I was driving a 2006 Prius, merging or passing was so slow it was dangerous.

It is nice to see city looks good, I’m hoping this matches or beats my wifes MYP on the highway. Time will tell.
I'm not far from Forsyth and I know the roads. Most of the roads have speed limits of 55 or less. That's US Highways, States and County roads, which outnumber Interstates by far.
Highways are not Interstates.

And driving 65 on most highways is pretty common.

If I'm not mistake, Forsyth has one and only one road with a speed limit over 55.

I'm feeling that if you add 100wh to chart, that'll be the Cybertruck's numbers.

You are correct it is 75, the speed limit is 70 and everyone goes 75-80. It’s the road I and almost everyone else takes to work or anywhere else we need to go. The only time I don’t take it is when I drive to the local town.

FYI I live in the town of Forsyth, not Forsyth County. Iā€˜m still leaning towards getting a Cybertruck, I have a ways to go anyway so I have time to think about it and/or see improvements. I do love the truck!!

And I'll be headed down to GPSTC in a couple of weeks. I'll be going probably 77 mph.
I'm expecting the Cybertruck to be able to match the Model 3 or Model Y. All numbers say so, so far.
Will I run out of range doing the trip, probably not, but I may spend a few minutes at one of the multiple chargers along the way, just so that I don't come home as empty.

All the number that I'm seeing so far are the same as the other vehicles, 60 mph gives you EPA, you drop 10% for every 5 mph faster. The Cybertruck it going to add about 100 wh/mile.

And none of that really matters, there's enough Superchargers along the route that the only way I run empty is my neglect. So whether I go 60 or 90, it doesn't really mean much. Just as a Hummer 1 (not EV) will make it across country, just at an astronomical prices.
