Powershare for Powerwalls update due soon

Not every solar set up has power walls and people have solar panels which are not Tesla would buy powerwalls if still a tax benefit. From Teslas perspective, what’s the hurry, after December is no big deal

I didn’t realize that. It was my understanding that teslas solar installs use mppt controllers and inverters that are incorporated into the powerwall.
What do they use for that if somebody buys solar from them that’s not based on a powerwall? Third party stuff?

The wall charger with vehicle to home and vehicle to grid that uses a wall charger and meter collar.

Where in the app does it say not available yet? Not that it really matters. Just curious because in my app it just says home not connected even when I have PowerShare Home Backup turned on and the CT is plugged into UWC. I have solar and Powerwalls, just for clarity.

Go to your energy gateway in the app, then settings, then 'my home info' to see the message

And I have thought about adding a manual generator style input, just really didnt want to spend that money unless forced to......

I'm surprised the powerwalls code is not capable of the switch over? That makes no sense. What is it doing then? Just selling back power to the grid? Have you tried flipping the main utility breaker to test it?

My cybertruck (equivalent to 9 powerwalls)and gateway is my automatic switch over when the utility drops.

Powerwall(s) as the only grid forming source works.
Cybertruck as only grid forming source works.
The challenge is Cybertruck exporting power into a Powerwall controlled grid.

Thanks for starting this discussion. I'm also waiting for any update on this. I have solar panels(non-tesla) and no powerwall battery backup. To my understanding, I need a gateway 3v to hopefully in the future be able to use my truck as the backup in case I have an outage.

Do I have the right equipment? Are we all just playing the waiting game?

Yes, a Powershare only setup requires a Powershare Gateway aka 3V.

I needed a functional solution before hurricane season and had an electrician hook up a manual connection to the fusebox from my 240v bed and it works just fine. It is manual, it is 9kw not 11kw and does not have a slick app. The juice was worth the squeeze in addition to the timeliness.

Enphase, Bluetti, Anker will hopefully have some slick related ideas at CES in Vegas... ces.tech

Powershare currently works for traditional non solar homes at the moment? What is the issue with the solar? Is there an added step the system has to bypass to feed energy into the house?

Powershare currently works with non-solar homes.
It also works with up to 11.5kW of UL1741 solar.

No. Tesla had stated 25Q3 and recently pushed it again. I am one who's also waiting. Not happy with the typical Tesla lies. Just like FSD14 will not be out this month for us as Elon said.
